Death
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What do you feel about death?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Well, Death to me is a natural part of life. Even though it is just pat of life it makes me said. My Pappa ( great Grandpa) he is 85. and he has Cancer. He has gotten so bad he doesn't eat. he can't eat. He sleeps all the time. The doctor thinks he will only live for about or so.
I know when he dies he will be in heaen with our lord and savor. ( Jesus and God). He will be happy. But for those of us who are still on earth, have to be sad and live with out him. .

Well, I can't stop you feeling sad, but death... is just the mount everest of life for those who belive in god, I like to think of death (for christians) as the begging of somthing much greater.

Life is a path, death is a destination
Death does not scare me at all, I'm prepared to die for the Lord whenever. However, the way I will die scares me, the pain I will go through.
I think either getting burned alive or suffocating (drowing) would be the worst death. The most honorable death for me is eithe rof old age or by the sword.
Daeth however is a morbd subject to talk bout that some may here my feel uneasy to talk bout.

I think death is the beginning of two things. Being with God or being without God. I hope most people choose to be with God.
I had a scare once about 3 years ago. Doctors didnt give me much of a chance unless i had a heart transplant. I was scare. But when i thought about it. If it was time for me to go, well its time, who am i to argue. Either way i would win. If i died i would be with God. If i didn't, i would still be with my family and friends. So i am not that scared of death, but it does bother me some, i'm only human afterall. well thats all i have to say.

Doubt and fear about death is one of the biggest obstacles to my faith right now. I don't know why it is, but I can believe in Jesus as my Savior and my salvation/forgiveness, yet I still constantly have doubts about the afterlife. I'm not talking about whether I'm really saved or not, I'm talking about simply believing in an existence after death. Nearly everyone I talk to seems to either take it for granted that there is an afterlife of SOME sort, or else they aren't at all bothered by the idea that we cease to exist upon death. For some reason Satan keeps casting doubt and fear into my mind in this particular area, making me afraid of death. (Well, not death, but the absence of an afterlife--nonexistence scares me more than anything I can imagine.) Most people I talk to don't understand this fear. Maybe those reasons are why Satan keeps using it against me. I continue to pray about the topic, but it continues to be a difficult obstacle for me to overcome in my faith.

I have never had any real experience with death in my family. All my grandparents are still alive and everything, so I'm not quite sure if how I would handle it if it actually happened. I like to think that death is a beautiful thing because it means that that person has gone up to God. I see sadness at death as a semi-selfish attitude. We should wish for the best for the ones we love, and to want them back means to take them out of Gods perfect presence.

When we mourn the death of one of God's children, we mourn for ourselves, for our loss is their eternal gain.
My sister died about a year and a half ago. One day soon after, it was a gorgeous clear day. I suddenly became sad because I thought, my sister is never going to see days like this again. But then I realized, she is now seeing wonders beyond my paltry imagination... and I began to look forward to the day when I would join her.
I had a very vivid dream about death recently. If you'd like to read it, I wrote about it here:

I don't fear death, because I know where I'm going, and that place is infinitely more wonderful than Earth.

I don't worry much about death. As for spiritsword's fear of non-existence... well I figure that if that is the case then I won't be around to worry about it, will I?

I'm not terribly afraid of death; in fact, I am very curious about what the afterlife will be like, not to mention eternity. I see the afterlife as the consummation of the way you live your life. If you lived for God, then after death you will be living for God for eternity. If you rebelled and ran from God during your life, he will depart from you permanently at death.
It also seems like death at this point in my life would be easier than living it. I still have the challenges of career, marriage, family, grandchildren, and old age before me, and to avoid them all would save a lot of suffering, but cause me to miss a lot of happiness. Of course there are people now who would have a pretty difficult time if I died, so I don't think that will happen any time soon. Don't misunderstand: I'm not contemplating suicide, just weighing the pros and cons in a rather morbid fashion.

I don't think I would like it at all if you died... you're too cool to die!

Death...is seen as an end, but really, death is only the beginning of things to come, the doorway into true life. Life on this earth is only a reflection of the real world, the places where our souls spend eternity. In this short time we spend here, we are given a choice of which path we take...which one will you take?

Aww...God bless your grandpa, Door Nob.
I'm scared of death. I know I am going to heaven, but the thought of not being alive anymore, not being able to experience life anymore just scares me a lot. I don't like it when people talk about death so casually, like they don't care if they die or not. I don't know...death just scares me.

Death doesnt scare me much, though pain does. I know if I were to die today, I would be with Jesus. But death indeed does hurt, God made people to get attached to one another, being torn apart doesnt feel good. But death, unless you arent saved, isnt really death at all, but simply the beginning of a greater life.

I had a near death experience back in 1997, I think I was in 3rd grade back then.
I caught dengue fever, and my chances of living was 50/50. I didn't know if I was delusional but I saw a bright light, and I woke up riding a winged horse (pegasus??), I know that sounded a bit fruity but I was really intersted in mythologies back then and probably it burned in my mind. my mom was crying, she never left my side, she was praying and praying and praying... the other kid next to me was said to be seing darkness and the reaper himself...
the next day he died. hours later my fever broke down, and I felt better.
after that we went to the chapel that was on top of the hospital and thanked God for everything that he had done.

And that's the wonderful thing about the resurrection, you
will still be able to experience life eternally. It's a wonderful thing when you think about it.

I know this is not gonna help much but I share Little-T-Chan and Spiritsword's fear, as to how to fight this fear all I can say is: have faith (believing in Christ is believing in afterlife) and don't let fear of death rule your life for if we did cease to existe and there was no afterlife it would be a stupid thing to do, spending our lifetime being worried about that that cannot be avoided.
See ya in Heaven (I hope).

The only reason I fear death even slightly, is because, even though I know heaven will be perfect, I'm still young. I want to graduate, get a job other than paperboying, find a wife, have kids...stuff like that. you know?

Death..... meh. If it's my time to go... so be it. Truthfully, I've never been saddened by the death of someone. Doesn't mean I'm not gonna be if someone really close to me dies. The only people in my family I feel close to are my parents (almost the only Christians in there too).... the rest... are like strangers to me.... let's put it this way about them: they're the people you don't want to be. I have no respect for them or trust and if they die..... it's a sad thing for them they aren't saved. Death isn't something I think about... for me it's just one of those things that happens, no stopping it. I'm not one to think of the future to much.... one day at a time.

Sounds like my friends family. He's a christian but the rest of his family isn't. Lets just say that his parents have had a bit of a fall out with the majority of the family (he wouldn't even tell me why).
But because of it, neither he nor his parents speak with his grandad anymore and he said that he could be dead for all he knows. I felt really sorry for him...

Death is something I don't put too much thought into now due to its inevitability. There was a time in my life though, where I had doubts about whether I was truly saved and I was scared about the possibility of eternal torment in hell because eternity is a very long time to be in such torment. Now, I don't deal with that and I'm glad that when my time does indeed come, one way or another, I'll be in eternal paradise in heaven. Also, like other people have mentioned I do somewhat fear the pain that I'd feel in the process of dying. Preferably, I'd like to die at an old reasonable age in my sleep but that may or may not happen.
