Does your parents say anythign stupid or just plain wierd.
Occassionaly my dad will tell me he's going to change his name to "insert any random name". I showed his cowboy Bebop and he was like Im going to change my name to "Ein".
Well, today he came up to me and said
"I'm going to change my name to 50 cents. Then I'll be a rapper."
::rollseyes::
my mom sometime ago asked me
"Is thier a way in Microsoft Word to like copy something what you typed and then somehow make it appear elsewhere else so you don't have to type it again?"
"Yeah, mom it's called Copy and Paste"
my mom says "No I mean on the computer"
"That's what Im talking bout" ::shows her how::

My parents say silly things like that, but I love them anyways. I have become more tolerant of such things as I've gotten older.

Just be glad that he didn't make your name a pun. My dad and his friends tried to persuade one of their buddies to name his daughter "Christmas Eve." Her full name would have been "Christmas Eve Carrol.

My mother is the most intelligent person I have ever met.
My father is the wisest person I have ever met, especially when it comes to following God's Word.
They just do not say anything stupid.
They are my heroes.

My mom does this almost every morning. It's not stupid as much as it is funny. She sings in a really weird voice that most people use when talking to babies or other forms of small children,
"Good mornin to you! Good mornin to you! Good mornin dear Header! Good mornin to you!"
Note: My name is Heather, not Header. *mutters* Blah name anyway...
Yah, that's my mom for ya. She's totally nuts but eniterly fun.

I have an aunt who's name is 'stormy', and she has a sister named 'rainy' and another named 'misty'. So guess what Aunt Stormy named her kid? Hailey!

A couple of months ago, our church has been in the process of relocating, and in the meantime, (before we got our very own building again
) we shared temporarily with a Spanish church. We were sure to label all of our stuff (with a label maker)so it wouldn't get mixed together or lost, and I suggested that we use the label maker to make labels in Spanish as well since not all the members of the other church could speak English. Her response? "But this label maker doesn't write in Spanish."

I know exactly what you're talking about, Blade Edge.
Generally, my parents don't say anything stupid. Daddy just makes bad puns that we groan at, while Momma is rather quiet. Though there was this one time that she had the rest of us kids convinced that spiders don't dissolve in stomach acid. You should have seen my older sisters face.

My parents usually aren't the ones doing that sorta stuff. Me.
-wordplay, puns
-odd questions
-interjections that have absolutely nothing to do with what is, was, or will be happening (spasmatic almost)
-toying around with logic
I know exactly what you're talking about, Blade Edge.
Same here. My mom does that the most.
I think my dad has said some weird stuff, but I can't remember what. Eh, I may remember later.
edit: well my dad did use a pun about naming children (or even churches) Grace, Faith, and Charity. You usually see the first two for names, but not really the last.

My dad commonly just says random words. And he likes making up his own words to songs. <.<;; For example, to "If I Only Had a Heart" he sings:
"I could drive a car thru heaven! *next verse is entirely random and differant everytime*"
O.o;;

Somebody try to find a way out of this one...
My Dad says: Scott clean the table
My Mum says: Scott leave the table alone I'm working there
If I obey my mum - My dad mouths at me for not doing as he told me
If I obey my dad - My dad mouths at me for not obeying my mum

My mom is Finnish, and when she lives in Norway she speak norwegen/swedish(and to me partially finnish as well) - and it can be kind of funny some times... also when we in our family always mix up two languages together....
anyway... my father is one of the funnyest people on the planet (I think) - so it comes a lot of stupidity from there

I had a friend named Charity when I was little. Funny thing was, she was a little older, so I got a lot of hand-me-downs from her, clothes especially.

My papa ALWAYS repeats the things I say an hour go....
I'll say: pa' I'm gonna clean my room! then a hour later: Ninja! go clean your room!
he always forgets the most important things, and keeps on repeating the same topic over and over and over and....
,but I love him anyways.

my dad said one(and he practise it to) that it's ok to drive fast when the road has a lot of curves, because thes is no cops standing to take your speed
Once my dad(when he was young) played cat and mouse with the cop (he was the mouse)- and when the police finally got him, with a road block, 12 hours, and two worned out tires later, they let him go because when they opened the motor they saw the enige - and it was fully legal
Yea.. an other time he drove real fast(with his lada!!!) - he had a lot of animals in the back seat in one cage - and the police stopped him they let him go when they saw all the animals
A third time, when he was driving with my uncle they was stopped. The police asked for they driver license - but my dad and his brother gave the policeman som family pictures instead (my uncle have 15 kids, and my father 9) - the punishment was to buy the mother of the children flowers
funny...
but that not funny things my father have said, that is somethinghe has done..

I love an respect my parents - they are why I am who I am today.
However... There is one thing which irked me about growing up with them. When they would say, "Because I said so."
Of course, I was a bothersome child. My favorite question was (and still is), "Why?" I don't have to know who, what, where, or when... Just why. And believe me, it drives people nuts. Oh well, I'm still a cutie-pie and perfect in their eyes, even with all of my human flaws (and occasional kicks to their rumps).

Wow, old thread. Anyways...
Hahaha, the first thing that comes to mind is the time I was watching The Fellowship of the Ring with my mom. During a very important scene, she said, "Why are his fingernails so black?" XD I got a kick out of that one. I love 'er, though. XD

Yeah...this IS an old thread. Oh well, on with the post!
My mom does the same thing. I think it was yesterday, we were watching Batman Begins and she kept interjecting loudly with things like "Ooh, that guy's evil...don't trust him!!" She constantly asks questions during other movies, like "What did he say?", "Who is that?", "What other movie was he in?", "Wait, what's happening?".
I love my mom. She's a character.

My mom asks for spoilers when we're watching movies. Dad and I have fun frustrating her by refusing to answer. ^_^

Ok I've QUITE a few things to add here since both my parents are clinically insane in some shape or form.
My Dad:
On Christmas Day he loves to wake us up by singing this annoying song we got from the movie Year Without a Santa Clause . It goes something like this: "I believe in Santa Clause! And he believes in me!"
Whenever he's telling stories of his childhood he always begins with, "When I was a little girl..." and waits for interjections.
One day I woke up to him saying, "What? Am I talking to a wall here? Hello wall! How are you today? Want some toast?"
He loves to answer the phone with an outrageous accent and say,
"Hello? Is this the person to whom I am speaking?" One time the phone rang and he thought it was his dad so he answered it like that...next line from him was "I'M SO SORRY! I THOUGHT YOU WERE MY DAD!"
My dad loves making up his own song lyrics to EVERYTHING.
He's an electronic engineer, thus EVERYTHING he says MUST be said at least TWICE in various forms.
And the icing on the cake-
My fiance` and I decide to follow my dad to church. How we got to church, I've no idea for he
-uses turning signals AS HE'S TURNING
-speeds
-and turned into the wrong community.
After this I turned to Mike and said, "He must be talking to Mom."
Sure enough, when he rag on him, he tries to justify himself. "But I was in a conversation!" My mom has no idea how he hasn't gotten into a wreck. Chu-Chu's afraid to ride with him.
My Mom:
This was while she was on some VERY strong drugs-
My sister, Micki-"Hey mom! Should I use this ice pack in my lunch box?"
Mom-" Yeah just put it in with what you use for makeup."
Micki-"Huh?"
Mom-"Yeah and be sure to move your foot like this. *twitches foot*"
Mom-"Chu-Chu water the plants."
Chu-Chu "Uh...."
Mom-"Just use the watering can right there."
Chu-Chu-"Mom....there's no watering can there."
Mom-"Oh.....I guess I was dreaming,..."
Chu-"Yeah...."
Mom-"There's no plants either, are there?"
Chu-"Nope."
Mom-"*wakes up* Hello? Where is everybody?"
Chu-Chu-"I'm here Mom!"
Mom-"Chu-Chu!"
Chu-"Yes?"
Mom-"Nobody will play with me!"
Chu-"I'll play with you Mom."
Mom-"Ok. *falls asleep*"
Mom(while signing papers for our new house)-"Oh! This is the part where we steal their pens!....There's no label on it!"
Realator-"No, they're just cheap Sam's pens....please don't steal them..."
Those drugs were for her RSD....and they made life pretty special! XD

Mine don't really say odd things to me lately.
The only odd thing I can think of is when my dad banned me from whistling in the house.

Mom: No video games until you clean your room.
Heh, my mom prides herself on making lame jokes. It's one of the things that makes her so special.

all ppl do stupid things, except we only notice them in others, my parents are my heroes, I think they're awesome (even though they aren't perfect). but if you want a goofy tendancy.... :
my mom talks to the people on tv when we are watching a movie
example of my mom watching "24" : "No! Jack, don't do it, don't give in, don't listen to him, don't shoot her!"
