Other than that? Who can afford it?

This always makes me think of "Endless Summer Vacation" which was a DoCo song from the Ranma 1/2 OAVs.

Obviously I don't get a summer vacation per se as a working stiff, but I do a lot of driving and roadgeeking while the many hours of daylight are good.

What is a...."vacation?" This concept sounds foreign to me. I may vaguely remember something like that back when I was in high school, but I've not experienced one of these things in several years.

I used to have a summer break, until I decided to take summer classes. :<

It actually hasn't been terribly sunny here yet. I will stay hopeful though!
Usually, during summer break, I try to catch up on everything that I couldn't get done through the rest of the year.

Yeah....that never happens. >_>;;

My plans are to be miserable in the stupid heat that dumb summer has, because summer sucks! And also to be paranoid and crying in fear at the horrible severe thunderstorms and tornadoes that stupid, terrible, worst season of the entire year summer produces! Because summer is terrible and there's nothing good about it at all, in any form!

I plan on working, as I am far past the whole summer-holiday thing.

Still, it's all good.

My family might be going to California for one of my cousin's weddings. :) We're also going to try to go to our actual home in Michigan. But the Michigan trip might have to wait 'til Fall.

I don't really plan on anything. Honestly, summer is my least favorite season and I'm ready for classes to start back up again and for it to be fall. But that's just me.

I plan on continuing to prepare to move to a completely different city by myself so I can go to art college... Still have to figure out where to live and who to room with, since the college doesn't have dorms and they don't choose your roommate for you. So that has to be done by August... I'm pretty nervous about it! ^__^;

But as for sooner plans, I'm going on an annual week-long extended family beach trip. Around August, most of us are going on a cruise up to Canada and back. My boyfriend and I would like to go to Hershey Park sometime... I'll probably hang out at the pool where my best friend works, too.

We're moving in a few days and it's costing us a lot of money to get set up so we gonna be broke. I've never been on a real vacation; probably won't get a chance to anytime soon. Also, I hate summer.

Now that June is here, I will be attending a fire service convention at Ocean City MD for a week. Most of it will involve siminars, memorial service, meetings and cookout parties and parade by mid week. After that is try to get in sometime for myself before I packup to go home. After I get back then there will be Fourth Of July. Then I will attend a fire expo a couple of days apart in Baltimore, Md then the week after that is Otakon for four days.
If something comes up to take a day or two off I will see what happens.

I'm going to take a few CLEP exams (WHEE FUN), and go to the beach with my family as many times as possible. Because I love the beach. A lot.

Unlike most of you guys, my vacation is ending next week. I broke my usual routine by not attending any summer classes, but I went on a few trips with my friends because I won't be seeing some of them for a long time.

My family and I are taking a trip next week. It'll be pretty quiet, though. Other than that I won't get much of a vacation this summer. I've got a lot going on with school right now.

I keep telling my mom we need to go to Disney. I've been twice, when I was four and when I was five. Yeah....I don't remember much except the sheer terror of the Back to the Future ride. (As silly as it may sound, I still have a difficult time watching the movie because of that memory.) But from the last time we went there we got lifetime passes, and we still have a day left on said passes. I WANNA GO TO DISNEY, DANG IT. XD

For last time, not everyone lives in America. Here in Australia we're experiencing Winter. We rarely get anything you could call snow but the wind goes right through your body.

From June 11 to July 4, I will be in Pennsylvania going through team training with my next service dog.

Then will be coming back to Houston. Where it has already hit 100 degrees (yesterday). Way too hot. Only going to get hotter.

So, I will probably be spending the majority of my summer "vacation" indoors working on thesis stuff.

That's some cool plans you guys have!

My summer is that I might work this time. Also I would be doing more hobbies in the meantime to keep myself busy. And maybe hang out with others and go to places.

Besides I LOVE summer! I dunno about you guys but it's the greatest season for me! The sun is bright, especially in the morning and the night is cool and comfy!
I can wear comfy clothes and have fun in the beach and the amusement park! YAY!!♥

I'm leaving my job in a couple of weeks. I'm foolishly going back to university in October, so I have a lot of reading to get through in the meantime & I have to at least make some notes towards a new research proposal. That will -- I hope, as it depends on my self-discipline -- take up most of my time.

In the early autumn I will be going on a semi-holiday to Canada. A relative of mine died there very suddenly last year -- my parents and I were his only close relatives & so we put his affairs in order and arranged a funeral, but we had to fly back to the UK before his ashes were buried. So we'd like to visit the place where they were buried, & meet his friends, who were very kind to us last year, again. And also see a bit of the city where he lived.

I'm going on a bunch of youth group trips! XD I'm a sponsor at my church's youth group, so I'm going to two weeks of church camp, one next week for highschoolers, and one the last week of June for middleschoolers... which should be... interesting.... @_@ And then I'm going to CIY third week of June.

I'm also maybe going to be going camping with some friends week after next. My June is going to be really crazy XD But fun! And then I'll pretty much have nothing to do for the rest of the summer. I'm also trying to find a job, but I haven't had any luck so far.

I wish the night was cool and comfy here. Some nights it doesn't get below 80, which is far from cool OR comfy.
I can wear comfy clothes

I can't wear clothes in summer. It's too hot for clothes.

June 10th is the last day of school for me! And coincidentally the day I leave for SC with my family, my best friend, and his family. Then I'll come home in a week to (hopefully) work at the local golf course and get some hole's in over the summer. Oh and I can't forget Camp Orchard Hill, my church camp, either :)

Hmm... I'm just staying home and getting some job experience with an unpaid internship. Though to be honest I think I'm going have more free time with my internship than with school!! lol :)

Yeah I miss the days of lazy summer. Alas those days are over for me. I will be working again this summer. Hopefully at a new place of employment nonetheless.
I hope to be going to shore or something and I am going to try to make it to Otakon.

I don't get a summer, really... After finals, I go right into four weeks of field camp, and after that, I have to take a couple humanities classes I missed, while working nights until I (hopefully) get a job that uses my education and start my life in earnest!

Unrealistic expectations are unrealistic.

Hmm... summer nights are much too warm most of the time. My favourite seasons are probably Autumn and then Winter. Spring is too hay-fevery and Summer is too sunburny and much too hot (42C+). Also the mosquitoes are a royal pain.

I'm going to be living at the pool all summer. I'll be taking a few beach trips and going to King's Dominion with friends. My days will be filled with Geometry that I need to finish up and Chemistry. I'll be doing a lot of drawing, writing, reading, babysitting, playing outside, roasting marshmallows in the neighbor's backyard, and squatting at friends' houses.
