Am I missing out?

Well my question is if I have missed out on sports for the past decade. I guess my parents never really seemed that excited about sports which I guess made me never think about joining a sports team or club. Never learned to appreciate sports until recently. But now that I'm helping out with my church's youth group, I realized that a lot of these kids have played a sport sometime for at least once. Same with my friends. So have I missed out or is sports something that I can continue to appreciate from a distance?

You can definitely appreciate it from a distance. Not knocking playing for a club, but you can have all the discussion/conversation about sports that you need by being a fan and watching lots of games. You're usually able to pick up on most everything that way. Also, find some sports blogs or podcasts both about sports in general and some specific to your sport (The Thundering Herd, B.S. Report, Pardon the Interuption to name a few geenral ones). Couldn't hurt to organize/join a pick-up game just for fun, as well.

Well thanks. Being that I never really did much sports, I felt I was missing out but I wasn't sure if I really was. I'd probably pick up on a sport just to be a little more athletic. Thanks for your opinion.

I'm one of those people who was always good at sports but never really cared for them...So I'd say that you aren't missing out much. I mean they can be fun, but in my opinion it isn't really a big deal either way.
