We are finally settled in! My husband and I spent our first year of marriage living in a three bedroom apartment with two other room mates (and all their pets; a cat, gerbils, a bearded dragon, fish, and a snake), and our lease FINALLY ended so we could get our own apartment.

The living room's got this crazy retro thing going on, complete with a real, working metal gumball machine (we picked it up at Salvation Army for 8 bucks; took me a while to dismantle and clean it.)
Anyway! I'm delighted! We have a home, and it's allllll ours. *happy dance*
On to the pics!

Yes, that is a hanging of Dogs Playing Poker. My friend gave it to me years ago and I pinned it above the couch as a joke, intending to take it down, but when the rest of the living room came together we decided to leave it. :P

The blue tub is crammed full of Shane's Lego bricks. :P

We just picked up some gorgeous antique chairs for the table, but we need to reupholster them. I'll post pics of them when we finish. :D

Woohoo for mosaic fishies! I bought this set when I first moved out on my own...it has pretty shower curtain hangers, a soap dish, and a toothbrush holder to match. It makes me happy. ^_^

Canopy bed with curtains as the topper...xD (the blanket's just there until we get a curtain for the window. The one we had for it wasn't quite wide enough.)

Nice, new countertops and newer appliances! The oven actually cooks evenly! What a thought.
Image

No dishwasher, but I don't mind washing the dishes by hand while it's just us. Once we have kiddos, though, it'll be a different story. :P

And the awesome light in the entryway. We have a huge entry closet, plus an indoor storage room big enough to even store our bikes...(no more leaving them on the balcony to be rained on!) but I didn't take a picture of said entry way because the chairs that we're working on are there at the moment.

The end! :D

Congratulations! Remember, a house is a house, but only you can make it a home. Even my little one room personal apartment is a home to me! It may not seem like much to other people, but to me... to me it's home!

It must be a good feeling having a place of your own to call home. :)

The dogs playing poker reminds me of...

Cute place. Everything looks so neat and clean! And nice 70s furniture. XD My dad had a couch almost exactly like that.

My husband and I got our first apartment too!! It's pretty and old. Like from the early 1900's old.
