I couldn't find anything in my search about this, so I'm asking here. I'm not trying to start anything, I'm just trying to broaden my horizons. I was talking with this girl in the cafeteria who is a Catholic and she said that the Roman Catholic Bible has 14 more chapters in it and they have communion every week. Why?

I repeat: I'm not trying to start anything, I just want to know.

14...is it that many? Hmm, I can't remember. But we have Maccabees 1 and 2 and Wisdom. Maccabees is where we get the idea of Purgatory. And yes we are supposed to have Communion every week. It's not really difficult, you're supposed to go to mass every Sunday and you get communion there. I'm glad you're interested in Catholicism, there are lots of misconceptions. Feel free to ask me just about anything. I'm the Catholic knowledge queen in my Christian Sorority.

Curios here too. Thanks for boldly standing out and asking that question. I have a few also.

So do catholics use their own bible only or the King James or New INternational Version??? And where do those 14 more chapters come from? Where's Technomancer!!!

In the hail mary prayer there is a line that goes:
pray for us sinners...etc.

Does that imply that Mary, or any other "saints" (by the Roman Catholic definition) can intercede with God on our behalf?
