First off this is NOT my poem. I did not write it. This poem was written by a fellow classmate for her Salutatorian speech at Graduation. I think the poem deserves to be shown to others so this is why Im posting it. Remember this is not my poem so don't thank me for it.

Graduation Speech 2009
~This is to all my wonderful classmates! I worked really hard on this for yall, I love ya with all my heart! :)

It isn’t easy to sum up the last thirteen or so years of my life here at Trinity. Any amount of words couldn’t even begin to describe the influence this school, the teachers, my coaches, my friends-have all had on my life. How can I explain the feeling of joy at watching the girl’s softball team beat Faith at the State Championship? The feeling of dread when the AP Calculus and English exams suddenly appeared on the schedule? The stress, the heartache, the tears, the laughter, the joy, the excitement of only one momentous senior year? It seemed impossible, but I was determined to give it a try. So without further ado, here it goes…

August came with dreadful ease-
Summer was too fleeting.
Yet this time we didn’t mind,
For senior year had meaning.

September gave us autumn sports-
Our soccer team went to state!
But as far as basketball goes-
Well, I guess it wasn’t fate.

October seemed to ghost on by,
And soon we were at the Wilds
Freezing each night yet drawing close,
The trip was worth every mile.

The following month was filled with stress
With midterm exams to bear.
But as soon as New Year’s Eve arrived,
Suddenly we were halfway there.

January brought the school together
For one “Unforgettable” night.
With black tuxedos and dazzling gowns
Homecoming was quite the sight!

The next month brought us snow and ice
March brought with it rain,
But nothing could dampen our spirits now
For graduation was two months away!

New York, New York we called you home
For one amazing week.
So many memories, too short a time
Too many blisters on our feet!

Debates were always a fun surprise
Especially in English class,
But the one thing we learned more than anything else-
You can’t use your shoe to pass.

We survived a week as husbands and wives
And learned “You don’t mess with Texas”.
And during every computer class
“The natives were getting restless.”

Snowball fights in the parking lot,
Fall Festival every year.
It’s hard to believe after all this time
That graduation is finally here.

So here we are in caps and gowns
Our high school years have past.
I know we’ve done our best to build
A legacy that will last.

I don’t know how we got this far,
Oh how the time did fly!
The years have come and gone so fast
And now we’re saying goodbye.

Not by fate, but God’s own hand
Had brought us to this place.
And now again, the hour has come,
We’re leaving by His grace.

The memories we gathered here
Will never fade away,
And all the lessons that we’ve learned
Mean more than words can say.

These bonds we formed from day to day
Stay strong within our hearts.
And though we may be miles away
We’ll never be apart.

To all our teachers over the years
Your patience was tried and true.
And I know for a fact that we wouldn’t be here,
If it hadn’t been for you.

So chase each crazy dream you have,
And enjoy each day you’re given.
Because you only get one chance in life
To give it all for Him.

So here’s to the laughs, the smiles, the tears
Praise God! It’s finally time!
I wish you all the very best,
Congratulations, Class of 2009!

Seems like you had a great Highschool experience. =)

As for me, Highschool was mostly stupid and I was so glad to finally get out of it and go to college.

Well, she was really magnifying the good stuff. But yeah, it was much better than our Junior year with Chemistry class. We actually got to do alot of stuff this year.
