I'm not sure where exactly this topic would best go, so move this or something if it would be better somewhere else.

I need to know if anyone here knows of any good books or material on how to draw manga (How to put comics together and basic drawing.). Now, my current delima is that all the stuff I have found on these subjects so far is either not very helpful, or dirty (Naked people, poorly dressed characters, and whatnot). So I need something that's clean, no nude models, or scantly dressed women. I couldnt seem to find anything like this at our bookstore.
So if anyone knows of any material of this sort, PLEASE let me know, I will greatly appreciate it.

The worst there are basic detailess sketches of naked figures, though they're there to simply show how to properly draw the human anatomy.

The How To Draw Manga Series is brilliant but some of the books DO contain nude images. I would suggest the How To Draw Manga Pen And Tone Techniques, it has no nude images and tells you how to draw comics, what equipment to use/buy and how to tone/shade. Its brilliant. My personal favourite is How To Draw Manga Bishoujo:Pretty Gals, its been most useful to me. It shows you how to draw girls (no males), faces, bodies, some clothing, cyborg/animal/fairy women etc... but it DOES contain nude images. If you want a book like this with no nuse images then id buy How To Draw Anime And Game Characters, it shows how to draw girls and boys and as i said does not contain nude images but personally I didn't find it very helpful, more confusing. I hope this helps you a bit. See ya around the forums.

Kokoro> Thanks for the site, I'll check it out.

DrNic> Is the pen and tone techniques the same as General techniques?( I think that was the name.) I was looking at one of the HTDM books on tones and whatnot, and it did contain nude images.

most How to draw Manga books teach you how to draw naked peoples :mutter: :bang:

However I did find one that doesnt :thumb: . Though it's by Scholastic and it's not true "manga form" but more americanized.

I learned by just studying alot of other anime series and how the creators drew them and then making my own style

Yea.. I guess I might just have to talk with other artists and get pointers.
