I'm not sure if this is old news or not, but I saw this on the news today...this is really important for Windows users. Apparently, there's a serious cyber worm that is supposed to be let lose April 1st that will infect 50,000 computers a day. Scary thing is, they don't know will happen, or what this worm will actually do! (it could be as bad as taking banking information, killing hard drives and stuff like that O_O; ) So Windows users are urged to take EXTRA precaution, update your stuff and get the lastest updates on your antivirus protection!

More info about this can be found at the following sites:

Edit: Whoops... I think there's another April fool's day thread that talks about this ^^; didn't think that the title suggested that...umm sorry if this is a problem...

Not true. They still don't know what this virus is program to do.

A few weeks ago, it started to come to life. But it was only sending signals from the PC's that had the virus to the hackers.

So far, that is the only thing that it has done.

This is definately a serious security issue that needs to be addressed. The real problem is that this was prevented in an update by microsoft in october. Enough people are using illegal copies of windows (or have security updates disabled) that this is still an issue. !!! The attack payload will be dissected in this thursday/friday's Security Now podcast:
