So, these are segments from a Japanese TV show called Pythagoras Switch which is intended to deliver advanced topics to young audiences in fun and interesting ways. As segues for their "corners" they have these little Rube Goldberg devices.
My roomies and I discovered them on stumbleoponvideo.com. Fantastic find!

I seriously watched that show every morning before school when I lived in Japan. It's pretty awesome and amazing.

I love Rube Goldberg devices!
We've had some great car ads with some amazing Rube Goldberg type devices. These Japanese shorts are simply fantastic.

Wow, once again I hear nothing but good things about this show... so is it the Japanese equivalent of USA's Bill Nye the Science Guy? That was a show I also watched every morning, he could also talk about any science topic and get pretty deep in it, but keep it understandable and downright funny at times.
BTW, it's cool that Google Video has Pitagora, but don't forget
