Well, I am writing this from Parris Island, MRCD, on Liberty Sunday, S-12, five days away from graduating as a United States Marine. Yesterday, after a ten mile hike, I received my Eagle, Globe, and Anchor from my Senior Drill Instructor after a 48 hour (with some change) event known as the Crucible.

Friends, I just wanted to drop you this little note to tell you I love and miss all of you, how proud I am to represent CAA in the 'Corps', and that I will be among you shortly (For ten days, then off for seventeen, then back for however long).

God Bless,

Private Ishtare
USMC

God keep you safe Zarn! Just remember that your life IS part of our freedom, and if anyone were to take it away we would feel less free in a major way. You'd better keep safe! God bless you.

Congratulations! I know all the training must have been very difficult because I heard about it from some people that I know are also marines.

Well, I've done it. As of today, Aug/15/2008, I am a United States Marine, bound for Camp Geiger, NC for MCT. I'll be around for about ten days, gone off for something close to a month, then back semi-permanently. I look forward to seeing y'all again, y'know?

thanks, y'all...

Welp, I'm about halfway through my leave, and it's been busy, I can tell ya! But it's been good too, and I've really enjoyed seeing my family again.

Now, for my situation: After MCT, I'll be headin' for Schools (depending on what Military Occcupational Specialty I get, or M.O.S.). Depending on what School I go to, I'll be authorized at least one electronic device (which will definitely be a laptop) So I'll be back on during Schools, though not for real long periods of time. After that, it's my First Duty Station, and from there I'll be around up to my first Deployment (which could be any time after Schools, depending on that Unit's rotation, if their just getting back or just getting ready to go). Non-Infantry deployments can be something like three months (Of course, they can also be a great deal longer) but I'm looking at being online again in a semi-permanent status for at least four months (after this one, as MCT doesn't allow computers due to the fact that its mostly Field Training).

well, that's whats going on here. What's been going on with CAA?

I give you, Zarn, a short re-cap of every major event that has occured on CAA since you've been gone:

1). Troll attack...yeah...

2). The banning of mitsuki lover.

3).The semi-return of Scribs.

4). The usual insanity.

And just like that, my leave is over. Stay tuned kids, I'm gonna be gone for about...22, 23 days, and then...I'll be back, brotha's and sista's. In the meanwhile and betweenwhile, I'll get to shoot rocket launchers, machineguns, throw grenades, do night firing, stage assaults...etc, etc.

So...I'm pretty hyped.

Anyway,

God bless each and every one of you,

Pvt Zarn.
