(not like it's really anything new, but this is rather blatant)

http://www.nypost.com/seven/08012008/gossip/pagesix/a_journey_in_search_of_pay_122478.htm

Visual artists screwed over after working on Journey to the Center of the Earth. They worked 3 months unpaid and are owed a million dollars. The company they worked for said it was "an accounting glitch," declared bankruptcy, and now handily built a new company on top of the old one and still hasn't paid the artists their money.

That's completely dumb. I'm sick of hearing about artists and writers not getting paid for their work. I'd sue and probably not see this movie (not like I was planning to anyway, XD).

Yet another reason not to see either movie, unless Frasier steps up. This is completely uncalled for, especially if the movie is making any money.

O_o seriously!? that's pretty...darn crappy. And REALLY unprofessional...

Ugh. I'm kinda going through the same thing right now... my job supposedly closed down and I've been waiting for a paycheck for almost a month! (I JUSt found out today that we are probably not going to reopen, originally it was just to rennovate... =_= I was even promised that we WOULD be reopening and we WOULD be paid...)

So I kinda know what those guys are going through..It feel so illegal...

This world would be such a better place if we all treated each other the way we wanted to be treated u__u

Unless of course, you want to be treated like crap. Then, that's a totally different story >__>

I can understand that if a company was really bankrupt and really had no money, then they can't pay its employees. But it seems some of these companies say they are bankrupt, when really they have money.

I am reminded that when Dreamwave Productions had the license to draw Transformers comics, it too filed for bankruptcy and didn't pay some of its writers and artists, despite the fact that the director's BMW was somehow "secured". So potentially if he sold the car, he would have had money to pay some of his employees back. But he didn't, and now his name's mud amongst many Transformers fans.
