Christian Anime convention question #2

I see that not many people live in the state of florida or neigboring states. Maybe we can do many "MiniCons" acrosse the country to so others can come.
now on to my second question.
If you had created your own anime con, what activities would you include in it?
more specifically, what would you bring to the table that have not been done before?(at least where Cons are concerned) Example:
I was just put in charge of the hopeful one day to happen anime con for my schools anime club.
One of my Ideas would be Plushie Cafe. basically Build-a-Bear gone anime. people pick a doll boy or girl, neutral, happy, or emo, stuff them, then have the ability to dress them in different anime-inspired clothing, in doing so creating their own unique character. The "Cafe" part being that they can purchase food, namely desserts, they can eat while they are creating their character.
I also thought of a variant of that but instead of plushie's make it just a theater and selling the food in there like a movie theater.
All the money of course to offset the cost of the convention a bit.

that's actually a really good idea... even without the cafe part, if you could come across the materials to create/decorate your own personal plushies... I know several fangirls who would squeee with delight!

I know that this doesn't sound realistic(Probably because it's not.), but possibly(I doubt that this would ever happen.) an anime character simulation where the audience views how it goes. I know that sound corny and cheesy, but I was just taking a stab at it. Like instead of doing what's in the show, you choose your own path and see where it leads not only you, but the story as well. Okay forget that, Im sorry for wasting your time on that one.
Although this is nothing new(Really it's not.), I think it would be great for a Dub Your Own panel to be at one of this smaller conventions. They are loads of fun.
You could as do a Cosplay cafe, but you see that in any anime though(Like The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya or Comic Party.).
Maybe an anime parody impromtu game. Like your team is given a card and you must try to come up with a scene to earn points(Maybe like Whose Line is it Anyway?) That could be fun. Or you could do any other anime themed games.
Im sorry I can't think of anything else. And probably nothing that I said was original.

actually that was great. if you mix the improv show with the choose your own path thing it can be an ingenious thing. Like stop at some points and be like ok audience now it's your chance A. inuyasha crashes down as a result of "sit". B. sit goes haywire. choose now. That would be fun!

Also (just for kicks) I would like some bands to play their too. Is there any christian versions of nerdcore bands or those types of bands you usually run into during a con. Also I somehow think David Crowder would be willing. ^-^

Be a VA. I'd let people try their own hand at lending voices to the characters.

I really like that one it works for me. i just wish I had the equipment to do it.There is one my brother suggested. Which would be to have like a photoplace for people who want to take pictures. then photoshop them into a pic of their favorite anime so they can put it on myspace/facebook/anyotherpro-stalker website lol. jk

Those are all interesting, fun ideas, but I'd just be happy just to be able to meet and hang out with other Christian anime fans.

@ Rocklobster-Um, I already mentioned that. The "Dub Your Own" ring a bell? Well you might be saying more than that, but I think DYO is the same thing.

hey it's fine. actually when you said that i actually thought you meant a panel not really going into a recording studio(well not a studio but just the euqipment) and recording their voices.
how about a service at one point(once a night would be great with worship and everything).

Well it was a panel room, but there was official dubbing equipment. Basically they play scene and you try to match the line with the flaps of the character.

oh nice I like that. I'll definately add it to the list now.
Also, like I said earlier what kinda bands and guests (including pastors as well as artists) would you like to have attend?

I gotta say, if you guys got a Christian anime con together down on FL., I'd have to figure out a way to go. ^_^;; It's no secret that I've been rather... disenfranchised with the current anime con scene (but that's just me). I'd love to meet other Christians who are also anime fans and gamers.
I'd be happy to do a panel on podcasting or sound editing. I guess that's not too out of the ordinary at anime cons, but hey it is something.
I've always been a fan of group panels and discussions at anime cons. Anything like that would be fun.
As for bands and pastors... I don't know. I can't really think of any pastors I know who are into anime.
