I gave my mom a Vileplume toy back when the first Burger King Pokemon toy promotion was going on. She's still got it on her keychain. : P

*seconds that*

I miss the days of only 151, plus Togepi (might have butchered the spelling) and all the new pokemon introduced in the first movie. Just those.

*sigh*

Those were the good old days...

I'm totally going to Burger King for lunch and supper tomorrow. Just for the toys. Gotta get 'em allll. ;_;

I've been an avid collector of Pokémon stuff since I was like, 9. I have several of the original BK toys that came out, along with a few from the 2nd movie that STILL light up and make noises. After eight years. I told my mom those toys were worth it, and I think she's finally starting to believe me... XD

I think it's obvious I need a new hobby, though.

Those days are LONG gone, my friend. Pachi sounds like some sort of sauce you order on pasta at the Olive Garden with a side of breadsticks and a nice Bordeaux...ahem...anyway...

Burger King is giving out Pokemon toys again? I'm suprised nobody brought this up: http://www.kidsource.com/cpsc/pokemon.ball.html

Ah, yes. The infamous Pokeball incidents --I remember having one of those. But you'd think kids would have enough sense to not stick their face in one...but of course kids do do these kinds of things...

Oh..goodness..

WHY? What is Pokemon doing that would promote such a feat of putting pokemon toys in Burger King? Is there a Movie coming out?

And I TOTALLY agree, as much I love cute little pokemon... I miss the original 151... I mean..you can't even get ALL THE ORIGINALS in the newer games :/

Silver was the LAST (and best) game that I played in that series... Gosh.. I miss the mystery of those newer 100 pokemon...now it's just getting tedious and the designs are usually really horrible.

Google Searched Pachirisu:

While that thing IS cute... it's definately a pikachu WANNABE D:<

This Pokemon is worth all original 151, hands down.

Seriously, it's freaking Sun Wukong/Son Goku. YOU CAN KEEP YOUR STUPID MEWTWO.

I will never outgrow Pokemon. It's not possible. I still read the manga, beautiful thing that it is.

Nostalgia is a powerful drug. It makes people think things that aren't true, such as, "The original 151 Pokemon are best!" O rly?

Let's think about this. First, there weren't any pure Grass types of the original 151, except Tangela. Tangela learned no Grass type moves though, and its stats sucked, meaning if you wanted a Grass type you had to go to another Pokemon. The problem is most other Grass types were ALSO a dual type with Poison. This meant they would get their butts handed to them by Psychic types.

Speaking of Psychic types, since the ONLY Ghost types in the game were also part poison (and Ghost type moves didn't really exist), that meant that Psychics were practically unbeatable, even more so since the Special stat was still all one stat, rather than being separated into Special Attack and Special Defense. This meant that if you had a Mewtwo, you were unbeatable, period, especially if it knew Recover.

Nowadays with pure Ghost types, Steel types, Dark types, and Ghost and Dark type moves being prominent, Mewtwo is not the powerhouse it once was.

Simply put, the new Pokemon have balanced things out, and what's more, have made older Pokemon that were once useless (such as Lickitung) actual contenders for a spot on your team. Also let's not forget that now Eevee has eight forms, meaning you could have a team of all Eevees of different types and it'd be pretty darn strong (I'd leave out Flareon though, Flareon's Special Attack is horribly low which means that any Fire type moves it uses are really weak and not worth it, it's had this problem since day one).

Lol, would you look at that...

Ah Pokemon, still great games of the rpg genre:grin:.
Next to Final Fantasy, the Elder Scrolls, Chrono Trigger and other rpg greats imo.

Hey I bet you BK or Mc Donalds will have GI Joes for the kids meal when the GI Joe live action film hits theaters next summer.

Nope, it's just a random promotion, as part of a deal BK and Pokemon USA made.

Pokemon... Man, that sure brings back memories...

All the bad old days when we only had 151 pokemon. 151 is definitely not enough. Now we have, like, 480-something! It's awesome! And the designs just keep getting better. The newest pokemon introduced in Diamond and Pearl definitely own the old 151. No doubt about it.

Anyway, speaking of Diamond... I need to beat that game. XD At least the Pokemon games are still fun... even if they haven't changed much. The show, though, well... You can only thundershock the cage so many times before you realize that it's always gonna be electric-proof, Ash.

I agree with everything Nate said. As much as I love some of the old gen, there's no way you can tell me that as a whole, the designs are more appealing. Yes, recent gens have had embarassments like Bidoof and Mudkip, but so much of first gen just.... doesn't look cool. I have nostalgia for the old Pokemon stuff, but some things have just improved a ton... like gameplay.

Also, the Ruby/Sapphire arc of the manga was amazing.

I will say my favorite of the pokemon games was Sapphire. I did like yellow, but Sapphire to me was just great. I haven't bought any of the newest games though.

I do miss the days of the original 151, but all things must either die or get bigger. But Pokemon has been going on for what, nine to twelve years? I think it's time for Pokemon to stop. Because after season five, I just lost interest.(Why couldn't they keep Misty?!)

It's all about having a team made out of nothing but dunsparces. They're so awesome, if you're lucky, you can even take down wobbuffets.

11 years, going on its 12th.

I think the Pokemon games should stop when Mario and Legend of Zelda stop, and the anime can call it quits after the final episode of Sazae-san or when Doraemon finally dies. Seriously, I never understood why Pokemon was singled out as The Fad that Should Die Now when there are so many other series that run for longer (and, in case of some like Doraemon or Sazae-san, have even less content).

Agrees. How are you ever supposed to 'catch 'em all' if they keep making more? Poor pokemon trainers... I can hear them now:

"I have 150, one more to catch and I'll have them all! What? They added 150 more!? MAN!!! I'll be doing this til the day I die!"
