A Question on Japanese Names

Yeah hi. So I was wondering: I have this one name I'd like to use that I came up with, and I was wondering if the Japanese word for "carpenter" is a real last name. If so, is it written "Daiku" or "Daikusan"? Any help would be appreciated, thanks. ^_^

Yes, "daiku" means "carpenter" but I don't think it's an actual surname...I could be wrong though.

Hm...yeah, I'm just wondering if it would be acceptable to use it as one. I'm a little worried that if I do, some people might think it's a retarded last name if it's not really one.

Found a couple of references to its use both as a surname and a given name.
Here's one:

Considering that even the Japanese can make up crazy stuff like the surname "Naruhodou" ("I see!", Phoenix Wright's surname), I wouldn't worry about it.
But if you name your female main character "Saru" without looking it up because you think it sounds cute,I might have you drop-kick you in the face. /true story

No, I'm not legally changing my name...it's for a pseudonym...a pen name. ^_^
