Now I Am Excited...

Okay, so I went to the college to get my algebra tutoring so I can take my GED. I go to use the restroom and I spot a piece of paper on a mostly empty billboard hanging on the wall. It has an anime picture on it, so I read it.

West Virginia is going to have its premiere anime and manga convention from September 28-30.

WOO-HOO!!! :dance::dance::dance:

IT'S RIGHT HERE IN TOWN WHERE I LIVE TOO! I'm so excited! I'll get to see and do so much great stuff. Not only that, but I'll be able to get anime stuff cheap at the end! I hope they have Aria the Animation on DVD there, since it's going to be released that month.

Hey, if anyone else is going to be there, let me know. I'll wear a badge (might even wear a shirt) that says CAA on it with my username and such so that I can be spotted easily. Oh man, I am SO excited! This will be my very first convention, and it's SO FREAKING CLOSE! This is spectacular.

The site link is tsubasacon.org. Remember, if anyone here is going to be attending (assuming I'm not the only one in West Virginia who likes anime ;)) Please let me know so that we can at least meet each other there. It would be fun!

You are so lucky to have a con in your town -_-

That's so cool though ^^ I would loooooove it if we had a con in our small.. quaint town ^^ Take lots of pics when the time comes around ^^

Are you gonna cosplay?

I'll probably take VIDEOS of the event. :cool: As for pictures... I'm not sure. I'll want to record as much video as possible.

As far as cosplaying goes, I HAD intended to do that. However I had not expected (because I'm a know-nothing) a registration fee. Not only that, but the fact that it will be 40 dollars for one person for the entire event discourages me from spending money on an outfit. I want to be able to buy anime stuff there, so I'm sure I'll dress in normal clothes.

But I will be using a digital camcorder to record stuff. I'll probably upload them to youtube for everyone to see.

Now I am NOT excited.

In fact, I'm raging mad!! :bang::bang:

It turns out that the location of the event happens to be the name of a huge furniture store that has nothing to do with this event. The area where the convention will be held is 132 miles away from me as opposed to just ten or fifteen. Now there's no way I can make this convention. The gas money, the hotel bill, the entry fee, the money I'd need to take food along... It's just way too much.

I'm so sad! I was so thinking that it was going to be right here where I live, and now it's over TWO HOURS AWAY!!! WAAAAH!!! :waah!::waah!:

awww! I'm so sorry! :( I know how disappointing that can be... Well, jsut because that con fell through, doesnt mean that one won't come to your area! Keep the faith! You'll be at your first con before you know it!! ^_^

It means that there are two locations in West Virginia that have the name Big Sandy's. There was a location in town that was a furniture store and had nothing to do with an anime convention. The other place was an entertainment arena where the convention WAS going to be held, but it's not in town like the furniture stores is.

Thanks. :hug:Don't worry, I haven't lost my faith. :eyeroll: I'm not THAT desperate. :grin: But still, this is the first convention there ever was, and I don't see another one happening soon unless there's a HUGE turnout for this year's event.
