Stupid Cellular Phones!

I've had the LG Chocolate Flip for a while, but I don't really use it.
I've been using it a little more lately, and I'm having some problems with it, like... GRRR!
For one, I cannot delete a quick text that I accidently saved
and the main thing that is bothering me more then anything is
I can't set T9 as default
I have searched my phone and, I have googled and googled and googled and can't come up with anything on how to set it.
The only thing I did get didn't work. Maybe my phone is satan or something, because its warped...
Anyway, if anyone could help I would cry with happiness for days =[
