Finally, someone considers us men.

Deep down inside, every man wants a bed like this.

Now, I'd like to think that I'm a conscientious sort of fellow. If I ever have a significant other, I want her to know that I will be able and willing to cook and clean, because a man should be able to do these things. However, a self-making bed is, quite frankly, awesome. I bet my dad and I could build one ourselves, though, and give it a better name than "Selfy the Self-Making Bed". Perhaps "Masculon: The Man Bed".

Hahahaha, that's amazing. I totally want one, though I know darn well I couldn't fit it into this room. I still get shot for not making the bed whenever my mom shows up here. :(

Heck, I want one of those.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking Feng-Li. Who says that girls like making their beds?

I don't like made beds, they don't have my sleep contours.

I never bother making my bed. I'm never in my room, the blankets will just get messed up again (and when I sleep I roll around and get twisted in the blankets anyway) so honestly why bother.

but the title of this thread made me giggle. Thought it was about something else entirely XD

I read (in a Reuters Oddly Enough, gotta love it) that making beds is actually kind of unhealthy, something about allowing dust to settle or something ridiculous. My mother doesn't like that argument, but I'm in college and she can't make me XDDD

Well if any of you go into the Army you had better ask the nice drill sergeant if he'll allow you to have a self making bed!HAH!!
From what I understand they still make soldiers make up their own beds..the Army way.So if soldiers, who are after all the Manliest of Men,have to make up their own beds why can't you shirkers?

...because I don't want to be a manly man?

Because I don't feel the need to follow someone else's standards of being a "man"? =P

It's not a matter of inability, ML. It's a matter of having the technological prowess to surpass the need to do so. Plus, the need to uphold artificial standards of masculinity in order to artificially elevate oneself above others implies a lack of security in one's own masculinity.

That said, I honestly would like to build my own version of this. I think it's not only feasible, but relatively easy.

If I strike it rich, I just might get me one of those. The fact that technology is helping us become lazier is both cool and sad.

It's interesting how certain inventions involve so little technology but aren't created for many years. This is just basic mechanics, if I understand the design properly. Sometimes this is simply because no one had the idea, but other times because the invention might not have been necessary in the first place.

How does it work while you're in the bed? If you have to attach the sheets the guiders upon rising, that strikes me as more work than just making it. Myself, I would simply prefer to have people who don't care if the sheets are left somewhat wrinkled.

Because I lost both my arms while pulling orphans from a burning building. It was very traumatic. Thanks for bringing it up.

I believe that the sheet is attached to motorized rollers at the sides, and therefore lets out slack when the bed is in use.

You know, I read the title of this such that it meant:

"Finally, someone considers us TO BE men."

You should more carefully consider your choice of words next time. XD

Owned. XDDD

My only problem with this is it doesn't seem to be able to make the bed the first time; that is, putting on the contour sheet, tucking in all of the other sheets, etc. However, as I usually leave my bed unmade until I get home from school or work due to a lack of time, it would at least be helpful to the morning
routine. XD

Haha, but is it really my fault you mistook the appositive for an infinitive when the title is taken in context? I will admit that it could be taken two ways out of context, though. Ah, English, how you confound one and all.

...Then...how are you typing? With your toes?

....kidding! Just kidding...

Which brings up my question.

Which is lazier: Getting this bed, or not making your bed up at all?

Aw man, I need that. I'm usually the one who's stuck making ALL of the beds in our house since my mom and brother often have to leave for work pretty early in the morning. XD It gets old after a while.

But yeah, I guess they could've come up with a more original name, huh...

Hey, I'm only slightly terrible!

Also, making beds is for suckers. This machine is a colossal waste of money. Just leave your bed how it was when you woke up.

I mean, you're just going to go back to sleep in it, right? Why bother making it if it's just going to get messed up again?

I hope you don't use that same type of logic when it comes to using the bathroom. Or anything.

Pah, they still don't reorganize themselves after you use them. xp

I don't have to make my bed, 'cause it's so high up that no one will see the mess anyway (and if I do make it I'll bump my head on the ceiling )
