"Asking for it"

You ever have one of those moments where you're about to do something pretty stupid, you stop and think to yourself what the consequences could be, but then do it anyway and have something like what you thought would happen happen? Let me explain, as I've just had one of those moments.
Less than 10 minutes ago, I went to our laundry room to get another can of air freshener. I looked up and saw it on a high shelf. Now, instead of doing the smart thing (i.e. getting a step-ladder), I figured I could just jump up and grab the can. I thought to myself, "Well, gee, what if the can falls on me? That'd be pretty heavy. What if it hits the ground? Would it explode?" and the like. Well, I ignored common sense and jumped. After grabbing but letting go the first time, I moved it a little farther forward (the shelves are the grated kind and my fingertips could just reach the bottom of the can) and jumped again. This time, I pulled it down, but blocked my face so the can wouldn't hit. However, what I didn't realize would happen ocurred. I landed the wrong way on a few of my left foot's toes. So the can hit the ground, and the only thing that happened was the aforementioned.
Yes, I'm paying for it now; my toes hurt. Thank God He invented ice. So, as the title goes, I was "asking for it."
(EDIT: Woot!!! 1000 posts!!! *parties...while sitting down*)

I live my life this way, and spend many nights falling asleep by banging my head against a wall.

Thanks. As an update, only one of my toes is swollen, as opposed to the few I thought would be. It's not broken, just swollen.
And the funny thing was, I was dancing up a storm earlier...now I can't dance the way I want to. I'm going to have to "caramelldansen" it for a bit. (Note: this is the cute little dance I've seen anime characters do for this song. If you would like a video example, let me know).
(Edit: Now I've got the 1,001 Arabian posts! XD)

Oooooooh, I did something like that just this past week actually
I tend to eat lunch in front of the compy
I had made noodles and poured myself a cup of Code Red Mt. Dew. I don't use a table, but instead a fold out chair
Well, one or two of the legs got caught on the rub thingy we have over the carpet and the chair tipped back and there went my Mt. Dew :| It went pretty far to ^ ^;
The "You Asked It" factored in as I was fixing the chair, but did I take heed and put it down else where first... nope XDDD
I was like,"Awwwwwwwww, my favorite drink O__O" ^ ^;

My entire life is me "asking for it" it seems. I'm so accident prone. Like on move in day for my college. I was unpacking, and talking to my roommate, and I tried to step over something. However as I walked forward I tripped on my shoe, and ended up, somehow, flipping in midair, and going backwards, and landing on my side.
Even my roommate can't figure out what exactly happened. but boy did it hurt!
I had a giant bruise.

Oh gosh, I can't even count the times I've done things like that..such as putting dishes in precarious places..and having them fall and shatter
One of the things I did was think I could jump onto this wooden railing only to trip over it and hurt my knee really bad
I wonder why we think we can still somehow get away with not using common sense even though it's failed us in the past

Well this one time........I did a rather dumb thing as in tear open a soda can in which the end result was me going to the hospital to get my left middle finger stitched up.
This was when I was little btw.

Ouch O__O
Ooh, I have one. I shall never buy anything just by going with the size on the hanger. I ended up getting comfy pants that are 3X u_u Someone must've tried it on and put it on a hanger that said an "M" on it. Which we all know means "Medium" u_u
Good things for belts ^ ^

One time after a long trip, I was carrying many things in my arms from the car (I knew there were many more things in the car, so I tried to do it in few loads), and among the items was a jar of nice homemade jam. On attempting to open the front door to the house, I lost my grip on the jar, and it spewed its contents in front of the door. I had been looking forward to the jam, and I hadn't even got it into the house!
This happened not once, but twice, on different occasions. Except the other time was with tyre blackening liquid.

I remember when I was around 3 or 4. I was playing in the front yard with my cousins (one blood and one considered). There's a big tree and by that tree was a broken Mt.Dew bottle. My cousin dared me to pick it up. Well, I did and I remember my mom rushing out and picking me up. We rushed to the bathroom to wash the blood off
I was crying, but not because of it hurt or not, but fear of seeing the blood.. and getting yelled at ^ ^; I think I remember kinda having a feeling what was going to happen back then, but I did it anyway
I was defiantly asking for it

Ouch. *shivers*
Hm...well, I've taken the experience to heart it seems. Now whenever I'm about to do something stupid, I stop and reconsider. Like a while back (since I'm weeding through my room and I've decided to sell all my old Barbie stuff I had in storage, as well as my American Girl doll and stuff...) I was trying to get some stuff out of the closet. I had the chair I was standing on positioned so that to easily (or maybe not so easily) get off I'd have to jump over the back of the chair and probably hurt myself. I decided against it, so I put the thing on the ground and stepped over some other stuff on the floor.
Much better than jumping over the back of the chair...although if someone would've had a camera and I chose to take the other way we could've ended up on AFV...XD
(And my foot's almost completely healed...just a little bruising left but it's almost gone. It ruined my chances of Dance Dance Revolution this week though TT^TT but I'll get over it)

Awww, I'm sorry to hear that
I hope it heals very soon ^ ^ I guess you could always keep Caramel Dansen it for now ^ ^
Ooh, I have another story, but this involves my nephew ^ ^ Well, his baby brother was sleeping and we were trying to keep him asleep since he's a little cranky butt
Anyway, I told nephew A to start his home work. I was on the computer. The pencils were in a cup one of the of the shelves on the computer desk. I wouldn't just let me get them for him, but wanted to get it by himself. I was thinking to myself,"Oh no, it's going to spill and make a bunch of noise.. " What happens? There it goes. Crashing to the floor. Making all kinds of clattering noises,"I knew it u_u" It was truly one of those forehead smack moments u_u
Good thing the baby didn't wake up tho

That's good. Baby needs his sleep. ^.^
(And it's fine...I could dance now carefully if I wanted to. My toe just needs a little more healing is all. I'm walking on it fine.

XDD wow...
I just remembered probably one of my very first "Asking for it" stories. When I was four years old some of my "friends" thought it was a great idea to go around smashing bumble bees and putting them in our pockets
I have no idea what prompted me to do that..
But anyways, after putting them in my pocket although they were dead you know how bees nerves still make their stingers move?? well...I got stung about 5 times
mom had to rush outside and get me when she heard me screaming....yep..totally asked for that

Awwwwwwwww, poor chibi Sakura
XD, you guys actually did that when younger xDD; I have never heard of such thing
Bees... I don't like them :| I avoid them like the plague o.o I heard they're attracted to dark colors like other bugs and insects, so I tend to wear light clothing
I got stung a couple of times. They're not that bad, but still
I'm very sensitive to pain

Once I was playing with my cat with my foot, while I was talking to my mom over the phone. Then suddenly the cat scratches my foot so bad that it turn purple and became swollen. So then I had to get a shot. It hurt, of course. And then I had to drink some thick white liquid that tasted terrible. So I was definitely asking for it.

O__________O
Cats can be so evil >_> I was at my firiend's house one time after school. We were all sitting at her table just talking. I had my hands on my lap and just chattering with her sister, mother, and brother ^ ^ I remember feeling an itch on my hand and itching it. I look down and there's this long scratch on my hand o.o I was like,"Where'd that come from o.o?" I didn't even feel it when it happened o.o;

My younger brother had something like that happen not too long ago. Hard as this may be for some to believe, my cat actually fell partway into one of the air vents in the floor. Well my brother went to see if she was ok and help her out. By the time he got to her, however, she had already worked her way out. He went to make sure anyway and pretty much got what for from the cat. Apperently she was still in shock or something. Ouch!

I have also had my share of times when I was "askin for it".
Example: I was 13 in the backyard with my cousin and brother after dark, playing tag. Now it should be duely noted about now that my back yard is quite thoroughly infested with, dare I say it, moles and gophers, dratted little beasts really. factor all of that into one senario and you can probably guess what happened to me.
BLASTED GOPHERS!:mutter:

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure what happened to you
Hmm, did you fall into one of their holes? The only gopher related incidence I had was when my internet was eaten by a gopher u_u It/they chewed through the line, so I was without internet for about a week U_U
Hmmm, I remember one time when me and my sisters were little. We were playing in the back and front yard. Just running around and stuff. Well, our neighbors had these beautiful rose bushes. Both red and whit ones ^_^ Well, I guess we all got really rowdy and had a Rose Petal Fight ^_^; There were nothing but rose petals covering the ground
We got yelled at of course and had to clean our two yards of the petals

see boy run from cousin
see hole in front of boy
boy no see hole
boy step in hole at high speed
boy fall over
boy twist ankle
need I say more?

I did, however, get a chance, once at my grandma's old place, to play real live whackamole (no, I'm not refering to the arcade game; I'm talking about the kind where you catch a real live mole in your back yard and whack it to death over the head with a shovel or other heavy object.)
TAKE THAT, MOLES!!!

I haven't had this happen for some time now, but when I was in my preteens I went through a nasty phase in which I seemed to have this inexplicable knack for being in the wrong place at the wrong time and getting thwacked in the eye for it. I think probably the most memorable time was when I stepped into the path of an oncoming boomerang.
You can pretty much guess what my brilliant little move earned me; an eye-full of boomerang. And that wasn't the last time either. I've also been hit in the same eye several times by a baseball, a basketball and once, I believe, with a soccerball, too. Of course, that isn't the only place I've been hit with a basketball. Lets just say I'd be singing soprano after every time. (care to take a gander where?)

Have I ever
!
Now please note that my story was before I became Christian so this may or may not sound too controversial.
But the stupedist thing was alcholism before my sisters New Years Eve Bash 2004 and the night before and I was telling myself "oh I might get real sick if I do this and should save it for my sisters party". But I did the stupid thing of ignoring my consciense and intoxicated myself with alot of drinks instead
.
The next night I paid for it big time and paid dearly! I was too sick to enjoy my sisters New Years Eve party. But I was asking for it big time and had it coming since I lost my sobriety. Even though I wasn't Christian then, I did however know somewhere in my heart after what happened to me and I was praying "God please forgive me. I understand now that going through this torture is my retribution.". I sort of was going through Hell too with all the pain I was going through but just as I said, that was my retribution for poisoning myself with too much alcohol >___<.

Well you know why you're not supposed to get between a cow and a calf?
Any cow and any calf?
Even polled cows like Black Angus can hurt like heck when they hit you head on!
