I just loved the idea of a CAA Convention even if I'm one of the people that would have to take a plane to get anywhere it could be held. Of course it ain't happening, but I thoght it would be nice to see how many like the idea of a CAA Conv.
Wonder what kind of crazy things would happen if it did take place.Heh!

We would have a live banning, with Steve presiding as master of ceremonies.

Why do I have a feeling said live banning would involve a chainsaw? This might not be such a great idea . . .
That said, a CAA con would rock. Maybe someday, but not today. Tomorrow doesn't look like it either.

That would really great, no way I could get there though.
And I think it would all be a very, very funny experience. ><

You know, if it never really happened here on earth I don't think God would be opposed to us holding a CAA Convention in Heaven. But it'd still be cool wherever it was held.

It'd be way easier if we could all just gather together on a forum site or something on the internet. Oh, wait . . .

That would be awesome. Seriously. I hope I'd be able to make it...

If we had one, I vote for Hawaii. Just so that I have a reason to go to Hawaii again.
Then again, if we did, I hate to say that I would leave the con early and hit the beaches for some surfing and eat at some of the good seafood places on the Island.
Or we can have it in Fargo, South Dakota in the winter time. That way the people that live in warm areas, and want snow will get their snow.
Then again, if Nate comes to it, he will scare all the snow away.

Why don't we all just meet in Texas? Because, as everyone knows, Texas is the best state. And the one with the biggest ego.

Nuh uh, the polar bears wouldn't! AND the polar bears would be the only ones not freezing their butts off, that would just wouldn't be fair, because everyone else would be. Except those of us with magic heating abilities. Those just might survive.

Hey at least we'd know that our convention was the coolest (yes I did just make that joke...)...oh and you forgot the Penguins...the Penguins would be quite comfortable as well...
In all seriousness though, personally I like the idea of a CAA con...even though it will probably never happen.

A CAA convention is a cool idea though like most have mentioned expensive and not really plausible >___< Though I suppose you could still do something to that extent like doing a CAA Meet Up at cons other CAA people will be attending. I do that a lot with friends over the internet. We only meet once a year but it's completely worth it. ^__^

Oh heck yeah! Glomp Party!!! ::tackles and glomps Sukuy-chan:: One wonders if we could get a bunch of Christian V/A's to attend...that would rock too!

That would be epic win!!
I'd love to go to a CAA Con! The very first Christian anime convention! And if we could get random people to come, we might get more people here on the site!!
I'd love you meet you guys in person. That would be SO cool. *glomps Tsuku-chan and Sohma-chan!*

If this does happen to go down.. it should be held in Ohio
Or some neighboring state of Ohio ^ ^
If I had the money, I would so try to put one together ^ ^ I wouldn't know where to start on it, but I'm sure I'll have some help with it ^ ^ Not saying I had the money to create one, but if I did.. I so would

If it's in Ohio, it would be a long drive for me, but then again I hear the Mid West doesn't have much anime cons so that would be a good idea
. Plus here in CA we have more than enough cons

Somehow, I think that would be the most appropriate place. Hey, maybe we could get Osamu Tezuka to be a keynote speaker!

This has indeed be posted many times. One of the hardest things to do, though, is figure out exactly how to organize things. The amount of time/energy/money involved tends to move it out of the realm of reality fairly quickly. Something that has only recently occurred to me, though, would be to have a multi-site meeting.
If we had a west coast, a mid-west, a south, and a northeast meeting, it might be less stressful on people - not to mention on travel budgets. There are other issues, though. I'd be perfectly willing to go to a west-coast caa con, but the hotels in my area kinda expensive. Then there's the question of where do we meet? If we have more than a couple of people, we'll probably want to rent a meeting room somewhere, and that gets very expensive, very quickly. If we knew exactly how many people would come, we might be able to plan it far enough in advance to book rooms, plan activities, and figure out what the total cost would be. Then we could divide that up among everyone, and we'd be pretty much good to go.
All the details are piling up... Ack! I don't know if I can take the stress. THE PAIN!

Pardon my ignorance (whoops, almost misspelled ignorance), but does CAA ever have fundraisers, or is it pretty much that someone happens to find the site, then someone happens to find the "donate" link, then they happen to donate?

I would like to point out on the staffing side of things that AX (One of the largest conventions in the USA) is using a whole hotel just to house staff this year. Thats the amount of logistics you'd have to deal with, most likely. Assuming all 1,100 or so members showed up we'd have to have at least 100 staff for planning, security... etc.
