Conventions 2008!

Woo-hoo! It's 2008 (um...that was blatantly obvious...), and hopefully, I'll be attending my first convention this year! If you're planning on going to one, which one is it and who will you cosplay as (if you're going to cosplay)?

Oh yeah, and I'll be cosplaying (hopefully) as May from Pokemon...I just have to put more of the costume together as I've only got a Pokeball toy (with Manaphy keychain inside!) and the black socks. Yippee...

I'll be at Otakon in August. Friday I'll be cosplaying Shonen Bat from Paranoia Agent. Saturday I'll be Vincent from Silent Hill 3. And I'll probably bring my acoustic guitar, too.

YaY! For your first time attending a convention! ^__^ I remember my first convention being very overwhelming but at the end of it all alot of fun.

I will be attending Anime Expo as well as Otakon this year. This will be my first time attending Expo so I am super excited about that. I am mainly going for the Pop/Shock Masquerade. Some of my friends did this last year (they did Morning Musume, another group there did a W performance...I so wish they had that one on youtube!!) and raved about how much fun they had. So, in honor of last years most awesome AAA concert brought to us by Otakon (I mean we are representing the east coast! ;) ) we are doing the J-Pop group Attack All Around (AAA) song of choice: DRAGON FIRE. I will be participating as Chiaki Ito. My costume is already complete, dance moves down, and voice in perfect pitch! ^__~ You can view the video here.

Otakon I do every year. Normally, I cosplay but I decided not too this year because I will not be attending with a big group only my sister and myself. Though that doesn't mean I won't dress in a Yukata or in J-Popish style :D

I had started 3 different costumes (all for group cosplay fun!) my first and still unfinished Chocola from Sugar Sugar Rune, my second and completed: Lilie from Princess TuTu in her school uniform but without a Duck, Rue, Fakir, Mytho or Pique!! I doubt anyone would know who I am >__<, my third costume and most of the way done!: Kahoko Hino La'Corda D'Oro GenEd school uniform. Though, I am still hoping for Otakon meet-ups! I love to see new/old faces :)

Last year I went as..... on Friday: Yuko from XXXHolic. From the 3 I made this was my newest. My others I had worn at other cons. I made the costume from the cover art on volume 5. From the 36 button Edwardian style short coat to the rufflely skirt and long whimsical gossamer veil! My outfit was even complete with an orange/blue bird in my top hat. I love that costume to death! It was the most challenging costume I ever made but well worth it. I received a lot of compliments on it. Saturday: Michelle from Read or Die in her Paper Master's outfit. It was great because we had a Joker, Drake, Anita, Maggie, Nancy, and a Yomiko. We also had a few of our friends dress up in the "British Library" uniforms though we didn't stay in them for long only for a photoshoot and that was it. ^__^ Sunday: Robin Sena from Witch Hunter Robin and sweated to death I actually retired that one after two wears because I loved it so much but not enough to want to wear it in the summer for a 3rd time again!

Next year, I am planning on doing a Gondoliers uniform from Aqua/Aria just because I am now obsessed with the manga! ^__^ I also want to do Ichigo from Kamikaze Girls only because the "Yankee" style is so easy to make. :D

Edit: Wow, already 4 people going to Otakon! ^__^ Hooray!

I'll be attending ACen and Anime Expo for sure this year. =) The cosplay list is filling up pretty fast, too. So far, between the two cons, I've got: Agito (Air Gear), Debitt and Bak Chan (D.Gray-man), Okita Sougo (Gintama), Time Jump Sasuke (Naruto), and Yamada Hantarou (Bleach). :3 Can't wait to get the costumes finished up~

I'll be Otakon, Neko Con and may checkout Anime USA
As to cosplaying Otakon maybe, Neko Con because I standout for safety purposes as the Japanese rescue firefighter or EMS provider.

I plan on going to Comic-Con this year and maybe/hopefully Anime Expo again this year. Unfortunatly I may only be able to afford one or no more than two conventions this year :(, because I'll be needing lots of time to pay off for my laptop and saving up for my first car.

I'll also be cosplaying Resident Evil 2 Ada Wong, FFVII Tifa, FFVIII Rinoa, and planning on cosplaying Silent Hill 3 Heather.

I shall be hitting up Otakon this year.

I was going to try to go to Metro-con, but I won't be in Florida during the summer. =(

I'm not sure if I want to go to another anime convention...I went to Onicon in Houston last semester and it was totally crazy and nerve wracking. (Vic's talk on Christianity and anime was awesome though.)
There is one coming up on Easter weekend --not sure if I want to go--I don't think Onicon was worth as much money as I spent that weekend --I have to pay bills myself now, so I probably can't afford to go to a con this year. Maybe another time.

By the way, where is Otakcon? Lots of people seem to go to that one.

I would really, really love to go to Otakon this year, but it's still very much up in the air as far as being a feasible possibility goes for a lot of reasons. We'll see, I guess. XD

I wanted to go to Otakon too, since most people are going there, but it's too far out of my way.

Anime Expo, most likely. I'll be cosplaying as Vash the Stampede again... maybe Rude from Final Fantasy VII if I can find a cheap suit and a dependable Reno cosplayer. I'd like to go as Jin from Samurai Champloo... if I could ever learn how to sew.

I'm planning to go to my first con sometime next year. If I can find a good Stormtrooper outfit, I'll be all set. :D

I will be supporting my state anime con (AWA) for the 8th year in a row in Sept of this year.

I wanted to go to JAMPcon, which is in Chattanooga, TN in late March. But the week after that, I have something plan and can't go.

But this is the first year for JAMPcon and I think I got next year, since I only live two hours away.

If you PM me I could probably convince a few of my aunts to make a garment for you. By the way, striped-pants version or non-striped-pants version?..

I'll probably attend the Nan Desu Kan in Denver, Colorado again this year. Its the funny thing about being Gothic at Anime conventions - you can dress like you normally do and suddenly you completely fit in. Likewise, I'll probably save the cosplay budget and use it instead on some elegant year-round Gothic clothing and show up in that.

Actually, you may have to change my Expo decision to 'canceled'. I had initially signed on for a Haiti mission trip with my church and the date has changed to the end of June and into the weekend of July 3rd -6th (man, I cannot catch a break for all my beautiful costume waste! >__<) Since I have a prior commitment to that, my dearly beloved Expo experience must wait... :( unless they change their schedule which is unlikely to happen. Though New York Comic Con is now a possibility for this year. T.M.REVOLUTION is heading there (THANK YOU GOD!) Plus, it's not so far traveling wise.

Otakon, is a for sure thing though since I have already pre-reged! ^__^

Edit: Though I am still contemplating wearing my AAA costume @ Otakon and doing the DRAGON FIRE dance regardless. Maybe at the karaoke XD

I'm going to my local convention, Tekkoshocon in Pittsburgh. It's April 11-13, I think. I'm going as Aizen (Bleach) and Miroku (InuYasha).
