Looking back...and wondering, "What in the world?"

Am I the only one that looks back on the past and wonders why in the world I did certain things, or why I EVER Acted a certain way?

I was going through my old xanga, which I haven't touched in years. And man, some of the stuff...I sounded like such a romanticized idiot back then, lol. Emo, almost. It was so immature that I've sat here and blusehd, even with no one else around, at how stupid I used to act. And most of it for attention, too. Haha, it's crazy. Anyone else ever do that?

Boy howdy, yes.

In fact, looking at some of my older posts here, I was quite the clueless idiot. I guess I still am, but y'know, to a lesser extent.
I'm so glad I deleted my old Xanga...I shudder to think of the horror that lurked in that thing.

I do this frequently. I've learned that this is a good thing, though. It means growth and maturation as I get older. I assume that I will eventually look back on the things I do currently and wonder the same things.

Oh wow, and I thought I was the only one who did this!

Now you can look back and wonder why you thought that!

Me three!

And yes, definitely yes. I've asked for every picture taken of me when I was 13 to be burned yes. XD

*long sigh* And back when I thought being noticeable would equal friendships.

I do this rather often. XD I went and looked at my 3-year-old LiveJournal account the other day, and... Wow. That's all I can say. XD

Absolutely. I regret things from three hours ago, three weeks ago, and three years ago alike...why I ever did those things, who knows.

Freaking Emo that I am. . . .
XD

Sometimes I regret that I didn't do things better or differently and that can sometimes affect my memories of an experience badly. Then I regret regretting it, if you know what I mean, because the experience itself might have actually been a good one. How do you beat that? How do you not regret things when it wasn't like an obviously stupid thing you did?

Indeed. It's rather depressing. What's wrong with this post, I wonder?

I've written diaries/journals as a kid and I find it rather amusing to read what I thought back then. I have no regrets. God has His Good reasons for allowing certain things to happen in my life and besides, the past cannot be relived so why bother.

On a more positive note, it's encouraging because it's living testimony that you've matured and have learn to change the way you see things in life.

What I do find more disturbing are my old PHOTOS. Good griefy, 10 years ago, I looked horrible. I really have no idea what I was thinking then, looking the way I did before. I'm extremely glad that I'm better-looking these days.

Oh and I'm pretty sure I'm not emo. XD

Nope, you're certainly not the only one.

I regret too many things. For example, telling my friends I that I like this one guy, and it spreads around everywhere and everyone's trying to hook me up with that person (that happened a few years ago). Nowadays, I learn to keep certain things to myself instead of broadcasting my business XD.

That's only one of thousands, my friend. Then again, we need those moments so we can learn from the mistakes and embarassments.

I regret, everyone does. But I think it's most important that I have learned from regrets.

Uh yeah, sometimes when I look back on someone of the things Ive posted in the past on other forums Im like "Did I really say that, it was like I was possessed or something?" I mean just the other day my sister and I were looking through her old notebooks from school about I dunno how many years ago, and she was quite surprised with what she wrote.

And a little while ago I looked back on a theme I wrote for the 5th grade about what I would like to have or get. And I said the complete DBZ VHS collection. Not only was DBZ a while back in my life, but also VHS! I mean its been a while since I bought any anime that was on VHS! (Most of them were Pokemon and DBZ eps. My childhood anime.)

Now in another couple years into the future I may view this very post again and say like "What was I thinking?" but for this post I might agree with what Im saying now though.

Dude. It ain't over yet. You are doing things today that will make you blush in the future.

The things in my life can scant be numbered. Many regrets, but only a couple of them major. The rest are all just a part of the growing experience that are important parts of who I am today.

Technically, I guess I am still making a lot of mistakes, so perhaps that doesn’t speak so well if you only look at the big picture. But if I never even regretted the dumb stuff I’ve done, I doubt I’d grow much at all as a person.
