1) People with handles that include the number '666' in it.

2) People who say "*Insert celebrity here* is God!"

Both of these annoy me a fair bit when I come across them on the net (both I take as a slap in the face of my faith).

666 is just a number, so it doesn't annoy me in the very least.

So I'd say #2. Easily.

I once sarcastically said "Bono is god!" once, because he has shown that he is Christ-like in many ways. But I was only half-serious about it, and made it known from the get-go.

The only mention of 666 is that it's the number of man.

666 just looks creepy to me....*shudders* call me weird.

Hm....second one would annoy me the most. 666 in the username would just make me wonder if that person had all their bolts tightened.

Or they just WANT you to THINK they need them tightened XD

Second one probably annoys me more too, actually.

I used to read a lot of Tim LaHaye's "Left Behind" books at one time (I own most of them actually), and so seeing '666' in a person's handle probably impacts me a bit more than it did before I read them because of it. On other sites, and on YouTube, I see the number in a lot of people's handles.

The vast majority of people who use 666 as a handle aren't the sort who need to be bothered with. A good number of them are just young teenagers who think sporting a controversial number makes them "Edgy," and therefore cool or hardcore.

Basically, it's one rung lower on the social ladder than walking around holding a sign reading "I'm so cool."

Quoted for truth. XD Basically, I find both items one and two annoying as traits of forum members, but neither as a personal insult. Both are just kind of displays of ignorance, I guess. XD

Ditto on the 2nd annoyance....though these things really don't get my goat as much as it used to....

The number 666 is the Mark of the Beast according to Revelation. What gets on my nerves is how on some forums people take the whole meaning of the number out of proportion. Like you're going to die soon or have bad luck and other nonsense Number two , I don't like how some celebrities are revered as if they were God himself.

That there implies that is the mark of the beast. Those that receive it are those that are not loyal to God etc.

Not starting a debate at all. Just posting what the Bible says about the number. Even though 666 is a modern appearance in Bible text of today while 616 and 665 showed up in at least once from an ancient source. according to Wikipedia. But Wikipedia isn't reliable on certain subjects. So I'm going to study more to see if that is true.

In verse 18, it says it's the number of man:

Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Or is it calling the man the beast?

Yes there is that as well. It also refers to the mark of the Beast, and the man part refers to humans that receive it . But don't quote me, I could be wrong, I'm still studying the whole meanings of Daniel and Revelation. And praying to God that I understand every detail.

No. 2 is more annoying. I'll rather deal with Paris Hilton's [insert someone/something]'s hot.

But nothing bugs me the most than usernames/email addresses with loads of numbers, random caplocks and unnecessary decorative symbols in them. No offence intended for those of you who have such usernames.

666 annoys just because of the reason Fish mentioned. They are just either "hardcore" kids who listen to Slipknot and Godsmack and think they are all that and more. lol I totally agree with you. Most people nowdays are really ridiculous and act like they are two. (Not all mind you.)
