Hey everyone, ChristianKitsune here!

This year, I am wanting to look into some decent charities for the holidays...

I guess I am tired of piling up all this "stuff" in my room and I really want to find some charities that I can particpate in to give something back.

So I was just wondering if any of you guys know of any that aren't frauds and that actually give the money to who they say they are going to give the money to.

Thanks everyone! ^_^

(By the way, I am not trying to sound all..."High and Mighty" I am sorry if I am, I am not looking for attention or anything like that. I know to suddenly talk about this publicily might seem that way, but I just really want information....)

Also, if this belongs somewhere else, I apologize to the mods who decide to move it...>3<

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but this is what my church does.

My absolute favorite, and one I regularly advise people to look at is Heifer International: http://www.heifer.org

They also offer really nice cards to go with gifts made in the name of others, for gift-giving (the best 'what do you get the guy who has everything' present is a gift to a good charity in his name. I would probably like such a present more than any tie my kids ever gave me.)

They have a great approach to world hunger, they've been around for years (they formed to address the aftermath of WWII) and if you are concerned about how much of your money goes to what you intended, they get very high marks in this category from Forbes magazine and others.

Both of the above mentioned charities are excellent. Another that I would add to the list is Christmas Tree. They give to families of people in prison. That and the other two are the main Christmas charities that I know of.
