Trivial college advice

Hey guys, I'm shipping off to college next fall and I was thinking about the stuff I'll need to bring, and it suddenly occurred to me that I'll want to bring along some game systems, DVDs, etc. All those cases would be bulky, so I'm thinking about picking up a 256+ disc album from where I work (they're on sale for $10) and putting everything in there. But then I realized that would mean about - man, I dunno - $500-$1000 worth of stuff in one place.

Do these CD albums get stolen a lot at college, making this a stupid idea? If so, how the heck do you guys tote around your discs?

In my experience, security of your property in college depended on two major factors: 1) if you can reliably lock people out from accessing your valuables; 2) you have trustworthy roommates.

If using an album binder still bothers you, you can purchase a large foot locker, like I did. And I still use it.

Here is an example of one.

The foot locker's a good idea.
