CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

I saw this question on a scholarship application that I'm doing, and when I asked my friends I got some fun answers. Like, "I'd be the smartest, prettiest girl in the world--that's not a power? Well...then shape shifting like Mystique!" and "the power to make Lil' Romeo fall in love with me...or maybe just to control the weather."

I'm not sure what my power would be. I can't decide between teleportation or freezing time.

With teleportation I wouldn't have to go though customs at the airport and I'll never be late, but then what if I pop up in mid air and land on something dangerous? Or what about that little law of science about more than one thing occupying a space at one? How will that turn out?

With freezing time, I could get a lot done. But would I even be able to move? What if I freeze the air too so absolutely nothing moves...

But if it's like the movies, then definitely those two or moving stuff with my mind.


So now I'm asking you all.
If you could have any super power, what would it be and how would you use it?

Hmmm... being indestructible is a good choice, mainly because most of the other things I could think of wouldn't be very fun without it. (Example: flying, strength, or super speed would be cool, but not with the knowledge that the slightest screw-up would mean death or hideous injury)

Personnally, I'd like something that works for stealth. Whether that be controllable invisibility, being able to phase through walls and objects without falling through the earth, melding into the shadows, or being able to render myself completely adn utterly soundless, it doesn't matter. I think the phasing and invisibility would be able to be used for the best effect, but the lack of sound would be easier to use in public, since as long as I didn't try to speak too often or accidentally do something that should have been loud it would be easy enough to hide or explain away if someone caught me using it.

Teleportation.

No doubt this would be it if I could choose only one. Although a bit modified there was a character in New Mutants called Magik who had 'stepping disks' in which she could make appear anywhere to anywhere. this could be used offensively as well (i.e. make someone fall through the disk and come out a mile up in the clouds). This always seemed cool to me...if I only had to choose one.

I would be the next Mongolian Kahn. Does that count as a superpower?
If not, I would cause an army of graham crackers to come to life and assume the forms of long-since deceased tyrants to takeover the world for me.

Super speed/ hightened senses (extra-sensitive sight, hearing, etc)/ black belt martial arts skills....

Let's just say part of that shouldn't be too unrealistic to accomplish...I still have a long ways to get that black-belt though....and ppl who run on a regular basis still beat me in races....so.....I guess I still have a while to go....

Flying and teleporting are all really cool and all, but I must give credit to a friend for this one...possible the best truly-practical super power I've heard of. The Power of Suggestion. Basically it's being able to pull a Jedi mind trick anytime you wanted. Job interview? --I think you should hire me. Feeling hungry? --I think you should give me that hamburger. Hostage situation? --I think you should put the gun down and surrender. Yeah, the Power of Suggestion would be pretty darn useful...although, highly abusable.

Also, the most amusing super power I've ever had described to me: Being entirely omniscient. But only in a 6 foot radius around you.

I've always wanted the ability to control lightning.

In fact, that was Okami's original 'power'....(note the lightning boolt markings on her ears)

It just sounds like fun, and it'd be all purpose, I mean, you could even use it as a nightlight if you really wished XD

Personally, I don't know if there is one specific super stregnth I would like to have, but I would have a power like Ban on Getbackers--the ability to make people have dreams for one minute just by looking at them! Good dreams, of course...unless otherwise needed...heh...

Assuming that the powers work like they should without injecting all kinds of extra physics into the equation such as "I have super strength so I shatter every bone in my arm when I punch something" or "I can fly so I get hypothermia when I fly above 500 feet". I mean, a human flying is enough of a violation of physics, I think we could get away without freezing to death while doing so.

If I could have only one power, the power I'd choose would be flight. It's the best single power out there.

I think being like Super Saiyan Level 4 Son Gokou (without the hairstyle) would do me just fine.

Esoteric wins for this one. The Power of Suggestion? Oh yes, I could use that one perfectly in far more ways than just one, mind you. I think you should all agree with me.

Actually, limiting omniscience to a small area would be a sensible power, as the information overload from a human having access to all knowledge could induce mental instabilities.

As for me, I'd like one of two powers [okay, if you're really offering, I'd take both].

First is memory control. I'd like the ability to instantly and perfectly recall anything I have ever known/sensed/experienced at will and also be able to forget anything I choose to. I would spend a significant portion of my time reading books, then.

Second is energy control. I think it would be a useful superpower to be able to absorb, convert, and discharge major forms of energy [heat, electricity, kinetic, etc.]. Imagine developing such an ability that one could be shot, absorb the kinetic energy from the bullet, then shunt the energy back into the bullet in th opposite direction. Also, being able to pull the heat energy out of things and freeze them could have its uses, such as never needing ice in your drinks again. Specifically, I'd like the ability to burn caloric energy ~ dissipating excess body fat by converting it into energy. Someone attacks me? I simply burn off a few percent body fat, converting it into electricity, and become not only better-looking, but a human stun gun to boot. FTW, my friends. FTW. One could also get away with a higher-calorie diet that way . . .

The guy doesn't have any stinky superpowers but he makes the baddies
wet their pants just because of the way he dresses and his rep.

That said IF I did have a superpower it would be Ami's from Sailor Moon.

you took mine. Batman's intelligence makes him the most dangerous superhero, I just don't want the loner aspect

Selective mind reading. There are plenty of nifty powers (teleportation would be extremely useful) but I think this would be the most useful on a daily basis.

Absolute matter control. As in, not only can I reverse bullets like Raiden, but I can control the electrons he needs to shock people, and can subtly change his body chemistry to make him allergic to his favourite foods. Then I can crumble bullets in midair, cause the guns that fired them to transform into little metal origami cranes, rip out the hearts of my enemies while not only keeping them alive but maintaining the blood flow so that they stay conscious, and then putting the hearts back in, closing them up, and leaving no marks on their body. After that, I could use it to fly away, creating a lens effect from the air to conceal my appearance, and rearranging the ink on the top paper at the newsstand to mention the election of a unicorn to the office of mayor. I could then support myself by means of alchemy and transmutation of substances - lead into gold being common.

Of course, then there's the other answer - variable-length prehensile razor nosehair. I could use it to cut things and grab things, and I'd be able to completely hide it or to meet my enemies looking like I had mind flayer face tentacles. Or even extend it across the room for great justice.

My super power would be control over weather--like Storm. That way, my meteorological predictions would be more accurate, because I can make the weather condition happen. Oh--and I'll tear apart hurricanes and stop tornadoes. And I can have rain, sleet, snow, lightning, wind--all the works.

Well there are three superpowers I would like to have, i would like to shapeshift into different animal, be invisible, and fly....yup that's it, ....I think. Oh and be the greatest speaker of the gospel so that I may be used to convert at least a continet,.. key word- at least, lol
