"It's that time once again ladies and gentlemen! What? You've never heard of such a bizzare television game show? Well now you will!"

This game show is funded by Manabi Straight.

Prizes include headaches and possible confusion as to why I haven't posted this in the goof off section yet. If I'm even being serious, which I am.

I had posted in the testimonies section of the forum about my recent miracle, but due to the people I've asked if they were interested in going, plus the disaster of AX 2007, I've been reconsidering.

So, here's my dilemma:

I need to plan to go to one con outside of my state for next year. I have until the end of October to make a final plan of where to go. From there I'll have to save up $600 and make a reservation to what con I choose including with a hotel or if I stay at someone's house.

I can go anywhere in the United States and possibly Canada if I got a passport, but that's unlikely. Alaska and Hawaii are NA. Otherwise the time and place is free to my choice.

What will really determine where I decide to go is how many people I know online will be there and if a friend I know well either here on CAA or one of the other places I visit would like to attend.

So, lend me your voices. I'm open to all suggestions. Even AX if enough people I know are willing to go next year.

Alec, I'll be happy wherever you go, so long as you're happy. Meanwhile, I'll talk to my mother to see if I can go to any Texas cons to meet you, in case you choose to attend one. But I will not be disappointed if I don't get to see you, Alec, and I don't want you to be disappointed, either. <3

(No, I don't suddenly like anime. I just like Alec. <3)

After AX? Otakon of course!

AX seems mostly about the dealers...Otakon seems mostly for the fans. Plus it is the next largest con after AX.

AX is the only one I'm likely to attend. If you want to witness the awesomeness that is Kaligraphic, that would be the way to go.

A lot of us generally go to Otakon, and as far as I know I don't think many CAAers are going to AX next year.

So you should go to Otakon. =D

I think Otakon is the answer. But get your registration in early; once, I got a room at the last minute -- and it was $300 a night. Find some friends, and you should be in good shape.

Unfortunately, as things stand, I will be in either China or Japan at that time next year, so I will miss Otakon 2008 (first time in five years)...

Anime Escrow 2007 was only a disaster if you were a Haruhi fan (or if you hated the venue, like I did). Otherwise, it was great. Go there.

Animazement is always a sure bet if you're looking for a con in the southeast

Thanks for the input everyone! I've decided with my carpooler that we're going to Otakon 2008 in Baltimore, Maryland next year. I hope to see you next year in person.
