Tetanus shots

This morning I had a tetanus shot and right now my arm hurts, like, really bad. I hate it.
Even two Advils aren't helping. The only thing that has comforted me right now is old Saturday Night Live commercials, especially Crackling Oat Flakes. Hopefully this will go away...

Yeah, it'll go away. :C Come on, it can't be that bad. I had the meningitis shot, and got body aches the next day.

It's not really as bad as when I got strep a few years ago...but it's still pretty bad.

Was it a needle or airgun? The last time I had a tetanus shot (four years ago) they used an airgun. I was sore for about three days afterwards; it felt like someone had punched me in the arm. XP

It was a needle. But it still feels pretty sore right now, not as sore as yesterday though.

When I got mine my arm was sore for about two days. The pain decreased over those two days, thankfully. But yeah, it hurts pretty bad. I couldn't move my arm much. The night after I got it I got chills when I was going to sleep. I have no other explanation other than that shot. I do not want to repeat that again.
But anyway, it'll get better. Sorry your arm hurts though. You have my sympathies.

I remember when I got my shot, I had a dance class that night. I literally couldn't lift my arm above my shoulder. That was unique.

i got my shot a while back, but i remember that it was pretty sore. just give it a while, stay off that arm, and it'll get better. it's not all that bad though.

Wow its been so long since I got my Tetanus shots. The first one I got didn't hurt, I didn't even flinch. The second was okay, not bad. And then the third had a little bit more kick to it. But really to me none of them really hurt as bad as you have described. I remember that the after a little while after you get the shot your arm would start to get super warm and may even hurt a little. But really though I don't think Tetanus shots are as bad as taking blood for the blood drive they have every year. Im curious about my blood type though, so I might get one.

I hope your arm is feeling better. Just remember, a tetanus shot is better than tetanus:
[quote="healthline.com"]Tetanus causes convulsive muscle spasms and rigidity that can lead to respiratory paralysis and death. It is sometimes called "lockjaw" because one of the most common symptoms is a stiff jaw that cannot be opened. Sometimes tetanus is localized, that is]

Update: I had some allergic reaction for a few hours yesterday and it went away. I was vomiting a little and had a small fever. Also my head hurt. My arm still hurts though.

You let them give it to you without a fight?!
I am making reference to a time when I was much younger and had to have the shot... In said experience I refused to let them poke that needle into me and actually raised my fists towards the doctors (being between 8-13... big age range but I don't remember when I last had it). Anyways, long story short they ended up having to bring in about 5 other male employees into the room including a Judo instructor and force pin me down to give me the shot... I didn't actually know I had it and thought they just pinched me... After said event, I no longer care and they can poke me all the want... I mean... it doesn't hurt ME that bad. But the experience was certainly something I can laugh back on... it took de whol five o' dem to bring 'ol Pascal down har de har har!

I remember having to get a shot that was part of a three-shot series back when I was 7-8. They didn't have to pin me down, but I was crying and screaming so loudly that the "technician" (I guess you could call him...either that or nurse) had to close the door.
And then the shot felt like someone driving a screwdriver into my arm.
I hate military hospitals.

I've never had my Tetanus shot (or maybe I did when I was little). But I certainly didn't like them.
I still have memories of being 5 and getting my shots. I had to be held down and tried my hardest to get away. I don't remember what it felt like.
Definitely an aspie nightmare...

I feel better now but it was definitely a nightmare.
