It takes a lot of bureaucracy to screw up this badly. My favorite part is the last two sentences.

O_o Imagine two couples having their newborns marry each other(not that that would actually happen).

Ah, life is so strange sometimes. Yesterday, I read an article about a Chinese couple who named their baby "@."

Almost as bad as the people who tried to name their kid "4Real" ><

The original famous last words.

In the strange place that is my mind, something just took two hours to tell me you have to sign something to get married. Although maybe not for long.

You're right. In fact, I remember the youngest married couple being infants over a dispute between two countries. But then again, when you think about it, parents could choose who their children would marry at one time. So why not this? Although without a doubt, it's a scary reality that's been unleashed.

Couple A: Hey! Let's have our babies get married!
Couple B: Great idea!
(they all sign papers)
Couple A: Our babies are married now!
Couple B: w00t!
Baby A: (throws block at Baby B)
Couple A: Now, now, that's no way to treat your spouse!
Couple B: By the way, what's your baby's name?
Couple A: @
Couple B: Oh, cool! Our baby's name is 4Real!
Couple A: @ and 4Real, the newest happy couple!
Couple B: What should we name our grandkids?
Couple A: Hmm. . .we'll, @ and 4Real were born just a few days ago. Maybe we should wait a few years before thinking about grandkids.

Now I hope nothing like that actually happens, XD.

What I find scary about it is the knowledge that there are people from ethnic groups or cults that condone or encourage child marriages here in the US. For example, that Iraqi refugee that married his 12 year old daughter to his 30+ friend. Then there are those Mormon-ish groups who marry off the girls at around 15, also as young twelve, to men up to five times their age. I'm worried someone will take advantage of this while the politicians are bickering. I hope that doesn't happen, but never underestimate a lawyer trying to make a name for himself.

Yeah, stuff like that is. . .creepy. I wonder why they have to wait so long to fix the law? Well, I have an idea why. . .

Really shows why proof reading should be done as many times as possilbe before presenting any law to be voted on. Leave a word, dot, comma or space and a type o and you have a real problem.

You were right, I don't believe you; that website is clearly a clever forgery.

In any case, it's pretty sad that no one caught that in the legislative process. Everything is mad a step worse by the fact that it happened in Arkansas.

But is it really our government's job to prevent stuff like this from happening?

What I actually found most interesting is the last sentence. The Arkansas legislature isn’t going to be in session again until January of 2009? How often do they meet? Maybe we’d be better off if the federal congress adopted a similar strategy.
