Does anyone know of any anime conventions or festivals or the like that will be in the Pacific Northwest area, specifically in or near Northern Idaho? I was told the closest decent one would be in Spokane, but I ask you all if you know of any others? And keep in mind, college student budget.

Sakura-con is a fair bet and a great con. I've been attending there for 4 of the last 6 years. This year, I flew out of Boise, round-trip, for about $140. Con cost is about $40, give or take depending on how early you pre-register. Hotel costs vary depending on hotel and number of people staying. Generally, 4 people to a room brings the cost down to around $80-120 for the whole weekend.

Me and my roommates at Northwest Nazarene University go every year, and we may need to find another person to split hotel costs next year because of circumstantial issues. The next SakuraCon isn't until the very end of March 2008, so I can't be 100% certain if we'll have room in our hotel, but it's a possibility if you're interested and keep in touch.

...I live right near Sandpoint at the moment, and I'm going to be moving down to Cour d'Alene by the end of August. Seattle is a bit of a long trip for me, but if that's the closest one, I'll see if I can get enough cash to make it.
