Swimtrunks

(Admins: I apoligize if this is a little edgy. Delete this if you feel that you should.)

I got a bathing suite this year that was like, mega cute and expensive. It made my butt look great.

But guess what? I'm going along with a friend and wearing boy swimtrunks instead. Why? Because they cover my thighs. No, I'm not fat. No, my parents aren't forcing me to do it. I'm doing it to be modest.

YES, YOU READ CORRECTLY. I, A FIFTEEN YEAR OLD GIRL, AM TRADING IN MY TOTALLY CUTE SWIMSUIT BOTTOMS FOR SWIMTRUNKS FOR THE SAKE OF MODESTY.

aklfjasdlklkasfjlaskjfaslfj;afjkals;flkjas;fasjdklfjsdlalasd;

FYI:
Girls should not feel like they have to wear a bikini and look good in it for guys to be nice to them.
Girls should not feel like they have to have rock hard thighs in order to be 'what a lady should be.'
GIRLS SHOULD NOT FEEL PRESSURED INTO SHOWING IT ALL JUST SO THEY CAN GO TO THE BEACH.

You want us to stop being anorexic?!?!?! You want us to value ourselves the way God made us?!?!?!?!!? Well then stop treating us better when we fit into a size zero than when we've been putting on the pounds. And throw that 'looking fine, looking good, looking like a woman should' attitude away.

Does anybody know what I mean?

What kind of bathing suit did you originally buy?

I agree with you teen4truth. I also wear boy's swimtrunks. My mom tries to get me to wear something more 'becoming' but I prefer to wear something that doesn't draw attention. I'm also painfully shy though.

Unfortunately, the guys still stare. What the heck are they looking at? It doesn't seem to matter what girls wear, guys (not all, mind you. I'm no feminist.) still just see what's underneath.

It had these bottoms that were like really short shorts...I think they're called 'boyshort bottoms?'

Yeah, most guys seem to be that way. But it is really cool that you try to 'protect' those who want to keep thier minds pure! Haha maybe we'll start a trend ^_~

It's good that you're doing your part to keep our minds pure. :) I think it's terrible how fashion today is. Some of it seems like it's designed to make men lust. I dislike girls who say that they don't want guys lusting after them then wear skimpy clothes. We don't stand much chance then if we're weak to lust.

Swimtrunks = FTW.

I refuse to wear such abominations known as swimsuits.

I only wear a one pieced bathing suit. It's embaressing to have all the guys staring...and in gym class, that's all they do, since 90% of the girls were bikinis.... -_-

I guess that's how most guys are wired; they like good looks in a female. By the same token, I'm sure you've set your eye on a hot guy in your lifetime. XD

Unfortunately, as has been pointed out, a fair number of guys will lust after a woman even if she's wearing a large burlap sack. It's just how guys are wired.

I feel kinda bad for you though, in the sense that you shouldn't let other people dictate how to live your life. What you wear, is between you and God, and your parents obviously have some say as well. If you were to wear those bottoms and a guy lusted after you, that's his problem, not yours.

Which is not to say that I am saying to wear whatever you want, since doing what you can to prevent lust is admirable. Still, in the end, a swimsuit is a swimsuit, and unless you're wearing a g-string bikini, I'd say it really doesn't matter in the long run.

Regardless, do what you like, I suppose.

I guess that's an admirable thing to do. I generally choose modest bathing suits myself, but it hardly matters since I almost never go swimming or to the beach. XD I bought a suit two years ago and haven't worn it to this day. It was so cute, too. XD;

Rock on, t4t. Besides, I think trunks can look cute on girls anyway.

Also, as far as physique goes, I am a fan of healthy bodies. Particularly overweight is not good. Stick-thin is also not good. Healthy is good. Keep in shape and eat right, and I'm happy as a clam.

I'll admit that I'm a very shy person, and so I go to a level of hyper modesty. I actually only wear shorts if the weather absolutely forces me to do it. And during the winter I wear a scarf as much as I possibly can. I just tend to get very uncomfortable showing much of my skin.

As for girls, I feel that no matter what you do you can't avoid what some boys will do, anymore then I can avoid being stared at for being myself. Although, I do get very nervous and uncomfortable around girls who don't dress modestly. So I can I support those who do dress modestly. However, it's up to you on how you want to dress. And if you feel it's modest enough, then don't change.

Kura Ookami-I totally agree!

Crimson Ryu-what does FTW mean?

Okami-I personally don’t feel comfortable in one pieces, but that is cool that you wear them!

Mr. SmartyPants- Yeah, true.

Nate(AND EVERYONE)-What I’m trying to get across is that society and the people in it shouldn’t put pressure on us to dress skimpily because not only do we feel uncomfortable with our bodies’ every imperfection being exposed, but it isn’t fair to the guys who want to keep their minds pure (as you said, guys are wired to struggle with lust.)

I totally agree with you that we shouldn’t let others dictate how we live! Very good point, and part of the reason I‘m doing this. As I said before, society tells us to show it off. This is my way of ‘rebelling against society’ lol.

Radical Dreamer- lol I do that too!

Dunedan- Rofl!!!

Raiden no Kishi- thanks ^^ haha yes, healthy is hottest.

Alexander- true, it is up to us, but we can choose to serve God instead of ourselves with what we wear.

Bikinis are glorified underwear. I wear shorts with my swim suits to. I don't need to be showing my butt in public merely covered merely in thin fabric MADE for showing off...

While I didn't want to use the term, that's how I basically feel about it. What happened to swimming just to, well, swim?

P.S. Raiden, I'm afraid I'm on the guilty list with my body. I'm 5' 9" and weight 110 pounds, but I'm happy being a little underweight as long as my overall life isn't shortened.

As a guy, I never had a problem wearing swimtrunks.

After all, I use to be a lifeguard untill some blue boy got me fired! :shady:

You don't have to. You can wear something modest like t4t has been saying. The Bible says that people should dress modistly so you wouldn't have to deal with lust. But now-a-days, we live in a twisted world full of evil. So
I think that whoever made bikinis should be force fed caster oil.

Guys, I don't think we should make people who DO wear bikinis feel bad. There are modest two-piece swimsuits out there, and to say that those kind of swimsuits are evil is really very rude.

Also, men should never wear Speedos.

But is it possible that the person who made them had the intention to create lust? I wouldn't be surprised with how sinful we can be.

Suddenly I'm curious to read the wiki entry on it. *goes to check*

Edit: Yes, it's true. And I'm not surprised. It was first designed in Paris and shown off by women whom at the time were considered greatly immodest. During the 1960's it was quickly accepted from being immodest to being normal thanks to television and films ratings going up due to the swim wear.

And to be the devil's advocate Nate, what about boys who like to wear speedos?

personally, men in speedos make my eyes bleed.

While men will always lust after women, the least women can do is do their part and dress modestly. Hey, if someone went around in bra and panties, we'd want them to feel bad about that... Most underwear covers more.

Speedos even on the shelf make want to throw up.

My qualms with speedos on men are not based on modesty, not directly anyway. I don't think I can discuss it on CAA, that's all I will say. XD;;

Thanks for the explanation. And no, I don't consider them all immodest, just some of questionable taste as you already mentioned. You'll have to excuse me for not getting the full message out in the first time. It's a mistake and quirk I commonly make.

Anyways, back on topic.

actually, i wear a bikini.

It's because I look horrible in a one piece.

I also really like to wear swimtrunks with mine...

I mean, I see it like this. I'm not walking around flaunting and being like 'WHADUAPP BOIZZZ LAWL". It's really the only thing that looks somewhat decent on me. XD
