Crocs: Comfortable and cute, or just plain ugly?

I think they're really goofy-looking and look like grandpa shoes. Never worn them meself though.

OMGAH I think they are ugly. When they first came out, I litterally thought they were just old lady garden shoes. I have no idea how they are such a big fashion fad!

Because they are comfortable. They may not be the most stylish, but they aren't hideous, either, and they are so much more comfortable than flip-flops. It's not even close.

I've worn my cousin's before, and I didn't think they were comfy...

Crocs are quite possibly the most awful shoes I've ever seen. I can't stand them. It's almost as bad, but not quite, as socks with sandals.

GRR BLAH.

Crocs are the worst fashion accessory since the chihuahua.

That's because they weren't yours. :P

I hate how crocs look -- they're somewhat ugly, but I'm not one to worry about fashion, so I wear them anyway.

Why? Because they're comfortable. Extremely so -- at least, after you've broken them in. They have a tendency to mold to your foot over time, so they aren't particularly comfortable at first (even mildly painful with a brand new pair). Wearing my brother's crocs is horribly uncomfortable because his feet aren't the same as mine.

Horrible horrible things they be... I remember last summer at camp I counted maybe 10 people that had them :/ The fashion fad seems to be out this year, but I still see quite a number of people wearing them :/

I'm all for tacky colours that I like with shoes, like my bluish-green skate shoes, or my brown ones with mint green laces (I love me mint green^^) If you want to go tacky, do it in style :/ Not a chunk of foam with holes every where :/

They look terribly uncomfortable, but I, myself, have never tried them

They look like the Americans design for wooden clogs that were given to us by the dutch. I think they are down right ugly. I could careless how they feel, you'd never find me dead in them. And now Im starting to see guys in them, kinda creepy. They sorta look like girly shoes to me. I mean what will you do when a flood comes around, your shoes will have holes in them and then you'll drowned!

Prior to this thread, I had no idea what Crocs were. After a quick google search, They appear to be some sort of plastic gardening shoe. A particularly ugly one at that. People really will wear anything if it's labeled as "Fashionable".

I have never worn them myself but here is why so many people do-

1. they mold to your feet after a week or so of continuous wear.. after they mold to your feet they are supposed to be the most comfortable thing you will ever wear.

2. they are odor resistant... meaning people wont smell your feet... XP

3. Someone decided to label them as fashionable... O_o who knows why.

But yeah I would never put something to goofy looking on my foot... not when my etnies are probably just as comfortable!

Personally, I think they're really ugly. XD I've never worn them, so I can't comment on how comfortable/uncomfortable they are, but I mean...give me a pair of comfortable flip flops with an arch or a pair of Birkenstocks over Crocs any day. XD

CRIEKY!

She's a beaut!

(Sorry, I had to do it)

So THAT'S what those shoes I see everyone wear are called. Personally, I've never worn them so my opinion is neutral. Although I personally prefer shoes and possibly the pair of Geta I'm ordering online.

And people wear them with socks, too.

There's these things called "jibbitz" that are little charms you stick into the holes. ah...ok.

I can't stand it when there's a woman walking with a very stylish outfit...nice blouse, flowy skirt and everything...until you look down and she's got these huge plastic clodhoppers on her feet. It throws the entire look off! My fashionista and artistic sensibilities are saddened.

They look ugly. =[ REALLY ugly. The end.

Can't comment on if they're comfy, but I'm happy enough with my $5 payless sandals, thanks.

I don't think they are as comfy as every one makes them out to be, I'd say comfort is an excuse to wear something that is 'popular' even though everyone knows it is ugleh. My cousin trips a lot in hers cuz they are so big XD

Interestingly enough, I have yet to see any Hollywood celebrity wear them. You know *their* taste in fashion (at least, some of them XD). So I wonder where the fashionable claim comes from.

The most annoying part is how brightly colored they are, which forces you to take notice of them when you don't want to.

haha true! Then again, I did see a director wear them once, if that counts as a celebrity.

Ii've only worn them very breifly when someone needed to borrow some actual shoes for a tug-of-war thing at summer camp and they were wearing crocs, but I found them to be kinda nice. They're not something I'd want to wear all the time, but if you had problesm with your feet getting too hot over the course of a day you planned on being outside during, I can see someone using them. I'd definately prefer them to flip-flops or sandals, but I'm still not a huge fan. To me, they're more of a "leave by the door so you can slip them on to go get the mail and then take them off immediatly after coming back inside" type of shoe.

I will confess, this would be very helpful, as my feet smell terrible. On occasion, I've been sitting at the computer and been able to smell them from the floor, so anything to kill that would be nice.

I'm a W. fan, but I don't even think that makes them acceptable... W. is elderly and stressed out by fighting terrorists who want to kill off all non-Muslims. He has no time to think about what is fashionable or what is absolutely goofy XD

I would like to at least try a pair. I know they come in black and I don't care if they look clunky if they're as comfortable as most people seem to say.
