Can parents force you to quit your job?

I'm seventeen right now, and I managed to find a summer job a few weeks ago, and originally I intended on quitting as soon as I started my senior year, but I'm enjoying the money I'm making right now, and they (My employer) said they'd like me to continue working evenings and weekends when school starts back up.
Can my parents force me into quitting my job?
Because they don't realize it, but I need the money..

They probably could force you to quit (parents can be very persuasive when need be), but you could try to strike a deal with them if you really need this job. As in, "please let me keep this job so long as I can faithfully juggle it with my schoolwork and any other committments I may have, including not running myself ragged. If anything slides, then I'll quit."

That sort of deal; and you do your best to keep what you promised.

If your parents talked with your employer, they can most likely get you to stop working.

If you want to keep working, I strongly advise sitting down and talking with your parents. If that doesn't work, then I guess there isn't anything you can do about it.

You an probably talk your parents into letting you keep the job by working out a compromise. I'm sure working week nights will just wear you down, that's probably a big concern for your parents. If you can work out working maybe, 1-2 week nights, and then full time on the weekends? What you don't want is a power struggle. Stuff like this can be talked about.

>"< Well, you're seventeen and I'm sure you have enough knowledge to make good decisions for yourself. At least the way I was raised, it's usually 15 or 16 is when we make most of our own decisions (unless you still haven't matured enough) - But I still talk to my mom before I make a decision.
With your parents, you'll definitely need to have a talk. If you really like your job you should be able to keep it I think. >0_o< I love my job and I would hate for my mom to make me quit! Not only do I like the people I work with, but it's nice to have my own money so I don't have to use my parents money for all the extra stuff want. >^^<

"Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right."

If your parents ask that you quit a job, I feel that it is best to do what they say. Besides, you're still in High School, right? In a sense, that is your job.. to excel in your grades as much as possible.

Keep the job, cut back your hours, tell your parents you need the money for college.
