Discuss: Bad Work Experiences

I honestly never thought it would end like this but it did.

To put a long story short: I'm already having bad cramps/PMS - boy at work hits me - I hit back, argument/mini-fight ensues - I'm fed up and I'm leaving - other boys at work give me a hard time - I snap at them too - and now I'm here at home still not believing the whole thing happened. In a nutshell: the people I work with now hate me, and I need to find a new job. :O And my sig is creepily ironic.

Thank you guys for letting me rant

I want to hear your experiences on:
controlling anger
bad work situations

Awwww. I'm very sorry for you for that experience. While I'm only 17 and am applying for a new job on Monday, I can't exactly say I've had any bad experiences yet. Although I've had plenty outside of work online and off.

*feels bad*

Mmmmmm...well...I'm sorry I couldn't give any of my own stories. But I'll try to be as supportive as I can for you.

I recently got a new job, and the whole experience has been horrible. It pays well, and I'm trying to stick through with it, cause I need the money, but ...

Well, basically I'm painting houses (exterior) now. I've worked about 60 hours a week, 5 12-hour days. I come home exhausted as a result and my brother (whom I live with) doesn't even get to see me, since he works nights. Literally, when I'm home and awake, he's sleeping and vice-versa.

As far as the work-place itself, I just finished painting a house owned by the most finicky woman in the world, which took almost twice as long as scheduled as a result. My immediate supervisor is more interested in yelling at other people for mistakes (many of them HIS) than getting the job done on time, and he's never said anything positive. I nearly punched him in the face on several occasions (I'm being re-assigned, along with literally half of the crew, to a new painting crew next week due to a 'personality conflict')

I can sum up my entire worst work experience in my life with only one sentence.

I used to work for Wal-Mart.

I don't work, but I have school. And if I'm having one of those PMS days, I'll try and stay by myself, luckily I usually get one of those seats in the corner or at the back of the class, I'll stay away from friends, usually. Ya know, tell them "Hey, I'm not feeling good, I've got to get to class..." or tell them I've got to talk to the teacher, which is, for the majority, usually true, but sometimes I'll say it just to avoid talking and blowing up at them. (I do it for their benefit, not my own) Because if I'm not feeling well, I'm miserable and crabby, and I don't like putting others in my shoes at those times. Or at lunch, while I listen to the latest things in their lives and gossip and whatever, I might put my head down and try to take a short-lived nap

I jus don't like to be bothered if I'm hurting. I'll seclude myself, because I am miserable and there isn't a darn thing anyone can do to help me. I hate blowing up at others, because that just makes me hurt worse in the end....

Thanks, Alex, good luck with your job search <3

Triez, your boss sounds terrible, but I admire your self-control

Well when I came into the library last Monday one of the librarians dropped a big ol'
bombshell on me.It seems that our library director quit and is moving to another town. This isn't too surprising since she has had problems with a couple of holdovers from the old library board.
Nothing to compete with what others have said, still it wasn't something that I really needed to hear right off the bat.
