If "comic strip" removes continuity-based contenders such as 8-Bit Theater, then my favorites are Dilbert, Fox Trot, Non Sequitor, and (somewhat) Get Fuzzy. I'd have to think about which online comics I both check and find funny to come up with a list there. One would hope this thread contains some discussion, and if so I will post an online list when I have something to say.

Mine are definitely The Far Side, Dilbert, Fox Trot, and Peanuts. XD I enjoy Luann and B.C. on occasion, too.

Fox Trot, Zits, Jump Start, and Curtis. I really wish they hadn't taken Fox Trot out of my paper D:

Do you mean completely? Because you are aware that the guy who writes Fox Trot stopped doing daily comics and only does Sunday ones now, right?

Calvin and Hobbes will always be number one, with The Far Side at number two. Dilbert comes in a close third, and I do enjoy Boondocks from time to time. As far as online goes I enjoy PvP and Ugly Hill, and Sheldon is occasionally pretty good.

Calvin and Hobbes is beyond a doubt the greatest comic strip of all time. Watterson really broke many of the established boundaries of the funny pages.

Peanuts is an all time classic, setting many of the precedents which that little red wagon rode over.

The Far Side was great, left field comedy.

Zits, Fox Trot, and Get Fuzzy are my tops in the new generation.

There are many classic strips that I really like, Beetle Baily, Born Loser, Hi and Lois, Hagar the Horrible, ect, but they don't quite elicit the same response as the top ones.

I would have to say Calvin and Hobbes is my favorite comic of all time. Now, for online comics, I quite like Two Kinds, but that one is continuous, so I don't know if it would count. It's also more of a webmanga, then comic.

Ah. If discontinued comics count, add Calvin and Hobbes as well as the Far Side to my list. I assumed running comics for some reason.

Online, I find most comics are somewhat mediocre (not that they aren't offline), so I enjoy those that can occasionally make me laugh, even if on average they aren't that funny. VG Cats and Full Frontal Nerdity both fall into this category but are rarely updated. Otherwise, I read User Friendly and Ctrl+Alt+Delete.

Has anyone ever read any of the following strips, the Spokesman Review is going to run all of them when they drop B.C. later in the month and I want to know if anyone has seen any of them and what they're impressions are:
1.Tundra
2.Stone Soup
3.Pickles
4.Lio

Pickles is about an elderly couple and their grandson. Lio is a pantomine strip about a kid whose wild imagination is even wilder than Calvin's.

*screams at the top of his lungs which isn't very much*

minus!!!!!!!!!!

It just has this pure innocence of being a child or acting like one. That's why I like it so much.

As for offline, I haven't kept up but I enjoy reading Calvin and Hobbes occasionally and Peanuts from time to time.

They had a sample of Lio up today at Dualfans. The reason was it had a scene at the bottom that was like the one in the first episode of Dual where
Kazuki has the vision of the Core Robots fighting in class. It was  funny.

My absolute favorite would have to be "Sherman's Lagoon".

My favorite on-line comic is "Narbonic", but that was a five-year story told in daily three-panel gag-strips that finished up early this year. It is being re-run now in a 'Director's Cut' (same strips, with comments).

Peanuts is my absolute all-time favorite. My other two favorites and One Big Happy and Mother Goose and Grimm. I think One Big Happy is currently only distributed regionally.
