What is your favorite pet? What pets do you have?

Postby Sapphire225 » Wed Jun 20, 2007 8:53 pm

Just wondering. I'm a dog lover . I really don't like cats (bad experience...)

At the moment I only have a hamster. My other pets died (with the exception of a turtle we gave away). :(

I had a golden retriever mix, which got hit by a car. No, a TRUCK of all things. My other hamster died (choked on a gnawy toy I gave her), fish (were old), two rabbits (one was sick, the other was old) and a Guinea Pig (was old). :shady:

I'm a dog lover, myself. XD And right now, I only have one dog (lab mix). I've had a number of pets over the years, though, including dogs, cats, gerbils (those were a trip XD), various fish, a turtle, and birds. 'Course, I never had all six kinds of pets at once; that's just over the past 18 years. XD

I've got 4 dogs, 3 cats, an iguana and an assortment of fish (divorced parents) 2 dogs at my mom's, the rest at my dad's. I haven't met our new kitten though...heard he's a sweet l'il bugger!

Cats are by far my favorite, my one, my 'baby' Mitsi, was in a rollover with me, and I'm sort of a mother figure to her, because I helped to keep her alive. She's the darned sweetest pet you'll ever meet, hands down. Loves everyone and everything and will cuddle and sleep with you if you give her the chance ^^

I had a hamster and have a dog.

I can't say which is my favorite... I heart them both equally. Or, loved, in my hamster's case D:

Cats, all the way. {g}

Not that I haven't known some nice dogs. Nothing intrinsically wrong with dogs. But I am by far a cat-guy. More dogs for other people. {g}

:3 I have a wittle bitty (ancient) Pomeranian whom I love to absolute bits. I'm more of a dog person than a cat person (seems to have more to do with how the animals like me, instead of the other way around. XD; ) but I'm generally a happy person around any kind of pet.

...provided it has fewer than 6 legs. >~<

Um.

I have a dog and a cat, and I am decidedly a cat person. I love my kitty very much, and I'm his favorite human [he lets me carry him around the house as much as I want and he will come when I call him ~ and I didn't train the cat]. My dog . . . is an idiot. I love him too, but . . . he has the annoying habit of rubbing his head on your legs, leaving lots of hard-to-remove little red dog hairs all over my pants. He also refuses to obey unless you bribe him with food [at least, most of the time . . .] and generally dorks it up. But, y'know, whatever. Point is, I love my kitty. ^_^

Throughout my life I have had dogs,cats,goldfish,gerbils and one hamster.
Currently I have only one cat,but I also do like dogs.The last dog we had was a female Malamute.(If you saw the special on Great Alaska on History Channel
some of the dogs used to rush the vaccine to Nome were Malamutes.)
My personal favorite dog was Brownie because:a)he was the only male dog we ever had and b)I picked him myself from the Pipestone dog pound for my birthday.
I haven't had too many cats,though my favorite has to be Tiger the cat that owns me now.

I have a Lhasa Apso. x) She's all kinds of adorable. I prefer dogs to cats, and don't really care for fish, birds, INSECTS, etc. I need a pet I can cuddle and squeeze without the worry of petslaughter. Cats don't really like the squeezing, which is why I don't really like them. XD;

I'm extremely fond of cats, especially kittens. I tend to take in a lot of stray cats and I currently have two cute kitties.
I would probably like dogs a lot better if I hadn't been bitten by almost every one I've come across(including supposedly "nice" ones).
A snake would make a good pet though....

Rodent lover here! Had a hamster and a guinea pig at different times. I love just about every animal. Right now I have a German Shepard and a kitty. They've both been around awhile (dog is 9, cat is 7), and I'm closest to the cat as she tends to cling to me and no one else. *Squeezes Tifa* But hey I don't play favorites! XP

I have a dog named Daisy. She's part collie and part German shepherd. She's crazy and hyper! I like dogs and cats both equally...but my boyfriend is turning me into a decided cat person! I like any animal really, but mostly for other people and not myself.

Really like dogs, cats & birds. Never had birds, but wish could've, but we've always had a cat in the house at one time or other.

Like dogs & cats equally, but cats are a bit easier to take care of. (Yes, I'm the one who takes care of cleaning the litter.)

Two cats own us currently. ;)

Hey, I used t gave one of those too...Does yours snort all the time when she's disgusted? Mine did that alot...

I'm an animal guy (as in I try to have that Aragorn type instinct of being able to try and understand various animals and make them as calm as possible), so I really don't have any favourites; though if had to choose I'd don't know if I'd choose the Gunea Pigs or the dog...

Anywhoo, having a pet has made me realise that God made animals for mans enjoyment (who needs Saturday Night Live when you have a dog who's peronality makes you laugh all the time....)

Also, has anyone noticed that alot of animals often resemble there owners or former owners in some way, whether it be in personality or even appearence? (eg. the only dog we had was given to us by my grandpa, and I swear that dog had the exact same personality....)

The best pet I've ever had was my rottweiler, Shana. Loyal, protective, and affectionate. I had gotten her when I was little and she stayed with me until a few years ago. She had a very bad case of heartworms, so we had to put her down. Shana's in heaven now, probably trying to chase everything. Ha.

Another great pet I had was a baby robin, Jenny. I found her when she had fallen out of her nest and so I took care of her myself. Whenever she was hungry she'd cry like crazy. But after I fed her, I could hold her and she'd go to sleep in my hands. When she grew up, I got my Sunday school teacher to swing her around a few times on his arm until she finally flew away and began to live her life. Never seen her since, but it was fun having her with me.

Like Danderson said, pets were made for man's enjoyment. Even if only for a little while, the memories you have of them are worth it.

my favorite pet...does my husband count? :P (j/k)

seriously though. i love all animals. I've had three hamsters..all had to be given away since i was going in the military. wish i hadn't had to though...*sigh*

right now i have a goldfish named rickie (had two other goldfish...both named coral..both died very quickly...like..under a week. =_=. cursed name i think...) and i have a chihuahua mix named yuki.

I plan/hope to get an iguana, a Conure, another hamster, a cat, a ball python, and something else i can't remember at the moment...ah yes! a ferret. ^_^; Micah thinks that buying me a zoo would be a good idea. what can i say. i love all animals. ^_^ heck. if dinosaurs were still alive i'd be wanting to have one of them too. lol *my faves the velociraptor..however...i'd never get near one and live to tell about it. =_=;;*

I love dogs. They are the best animals we humans have ever domesticated.

I love cats a little more than dogs. But really it depends on the animal's temperment.

For nearly 11 years we had this amazing dog. She was the sweetest, gentlest animal I have ever known. On Monday though, she passed away...it was really hard because it was so unexpected. I loved this dog, she was my very first dog that was mine. Her name was Nibbles. I will miss her more than any animal I have ever seen die. I am wearing her dog tags as a necklace for a while...and I made a painting of her.

Of course I talk about my cat, Pocky non-stop. She is getting so fat! XD

The thing about cats is that they are more independent minded.Dogs,because of their ancestry,are more pack minded.This means it is always easier to leave cats alone for certain periods of time than dogs.A dog thinks of his owners as being members of his pack.

I've always wanted a dog. But my parents wouldn't let me have one. Now as a slap of irony, the know I'm responsible enough to handle one, but now I'm about to go off to college and do a lot of traveling and stuff in a year... :(

I'm a general all around pet liking person. We currently have a dog, three toads, and seven rats. My mom has always told us she wanted a zoo.

As for my favorites, I don't have one except snakes. I'm a little phobic of snakes. Yet I tend to love most insects. Fascinating isn't it?
