But I think what the others are trying to say, termyt, is that persecuted Christians have a daily struggle which forces them to take their faith seriously, whereas Christians in free countries find it far easier to fall into complacency. If you might be killed for your faith, you're not likely to take a ho-hum attitude towards it. Something that might cost you your life has got to be the most important thing in your life, or you might as well abandon it.
