Fridge horror stories

Postby Denimcat » Tue May 22, 2007 11:30 am

So I was in the chat and decided to show the people in there pictures I'd just taken of the horrifying food from my fridge. Yes, pictures. So many people have heard of my nightmarish fridge, I thought it was about time I show people firsthand.

Do NOT proceed if you are easily made sick to your stomach.... or if you're attempting to eat something right now.

Image
This was once watermelon.

Image
Pizza. This should really NEVER happen to pizza. Not the yummy kind, anyway.

Image
Ramen. Notice the shriveled slice of zucchini.

Image
Egg salad with HAIR. Better still? I happen to know that this had been in the fridge for 142 days. 142. Since NEW YEAR'S.

So, nasty pictures of good food gone horribly wrong, horror stories, etc. If it involves food with mold, fuzz, slime, or a horrible odor, post it here.

What's truly horrifying is that she ate all that stuff right after she took those pictures.
The cake used to be a lie like you, but then it took a portal to the deception core.

That is the most sickening food I have ever seen. (with the exception of stewed monkey brains)

Rotting ramen is one of the most disgusting things in the universe. One time I got lazy and put some in the fridge because I couldn't finish it, and forgot about it. In a couple of days it was slimy and smelled so horrific that it was all I could do not to puke all over the kitchen floor. This, among other reasons, is why I don't eat instant ramen anymore.

Did somebody mention Bebop?

I think the blob creature was supposed to originally be Spike's lobster he left in there.

The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

I had a buddy who roomed with me for a short stint, and he got some shrimp dish. He moved out, and I found it later. A *year* later.

It all started when I noticed I could not enter my appartment without gagging....

Hahaha... nice pics. I love when that happens.

Worst things that have happened to me happen at work... Well, it only happened once, which is a good thing.

At Quiznos, we don't use too much Basil Pesto, but they ship it to us in these big tubs... Anyhow, we store them in the freezer at -20 degrees. One day I was deep-cleaning it and I found a tub of the pesto way in the corner of the freezer. Twas over a year expired and... wow was it gross. Who would have known that so many colorful types of mold could grow at -20 degrees?

Ever since then, I do a sweep of the entire freezer every time I work, just to make sure that never happens again

I accidentally put a little bit of rice in my bowl this morning that was a LITTLE moldy and nearly fainted. D: Those pictures did a real number on my poor psyche.

It is really...foreign to look at. But mine is much worse. Some of our food is starting to MOVE!

Dun...Dun...DUUUN!

XD

Well, I will admit that I try to be clean as humanly possible (I dust constantly) I'm not so good with cleaning our whole refrigerator. And while my mom and me do it once every three months at least, some things do start to age if they're ignored for too long.

I remember one time I was preparing to cook some spaghetti for myself and I grabbed the jar of Newman's Own pasta sauce. I noticed balls of mold (didn't recognize 'em at first) and asked my sister "Um, are these supposed to be in there?", to which she firmly stated they shouldn't have been in there at all. Thank goodness I was skeptical. I can't imagine heating that stuff up. Yech!

Wow, you're the second one to think that was a chunk of meat.

Watermelon that looks like dead cow = sucess. XD

Speaking of meat, ham will grow delightful short green fuzz with white spots. :D

I remember drinking milk that had been out of the fridge for over 3 hours, when I was four years old. Back then I really enjoy drinking it even though it was spoiled. Tasted pretty good.

a year back my church went down nto new Orleans to help with the clean up after the hurricane. well any way in one house...the power had been out for a long time and it was very hot and humid. so add those things together and you have the mighty fridge of death. it was bad really really bad. It had very stinky liqud spilling out of it while they tryied to move it(I was told 3 people threw up in the process.)they had to use duct tape to keep it closed. ^_^

One time at Wendy's I saw that a pan of tomatoes grew a nice cool little sea-urchin spiky-looking rainbow thing with little black balls growing on each end. I kid you not. It was diiiiiiiiiiisgusting.
