What is your favorite smell?

Oh yes, an odd topic created from loose thoughts.

Do you have a favorite smell? While I've been debating what mine is, I think I've found it.

The smell of fresh new books. I was at my bookstore today while shopping for a present, and I realized that the aroma of fresh books was what always seems to set me in a feeling of wanting to explore a new place and leave the world I live in.

The smell of freshly brewed coffee, the air right before a rainstorm and for some reason I like the smell of burning grass.

The smell of a used book store (the sort which is set up in an old house). The gentle decay of paper and wood combined with the great amassing of many kinds of dust and just a little bit of smoke is intoxicating.
Honorable mention includes:
An old book, of course
A well-used hay loft on a clear day
A holiday kitchen in the last hour before mealtime
That which fills the air after a hurricane or in its eye
A good little ice cream shop. Can't describe this smell, for I suspect that it is unique to that shop.

Nince.

I actually like the smell of firewood.. like for the past few nights our family has sat around our outside fire pit... and when we come in it's like we all smell like fire.

I guess for me it's just the time we spend together that makes it smell so good. I know that I have a very limited amount of time left at home...and that thought makes me want to hold on ot my family all the more.. ^^;

I also love the smell of rain, and insense.

A vanilla freak here as well^^ various chocolately scented candles as well, the smell of fresh licorice when you JUST open the bag (same with pizza when you JUST open the box), to list a few that top my list^^

Oh, and certain perfumey scents (including deodorants which are NOT strong) as well as some manly scents for both. Not sure why some young guys seem to think that the more Axe the better, though :/

New books and freshly cut grass.

Oh and brownies. Can't forget brownies. Not the kind of brownies I make, though. I like non-burnt brownies. :)

Mmmm...forgot freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies. And three types of incense: this one kind that one of our priests brought back from the Holy Land, a rose incense we also use at Church, and this narcissus incense my dad bought in the Japan store at Epcot.

Freshly cut gardenias. I freaking LOVE gardenias. Also, the orange blossom trees in Florida. We (my family and I) were driving past a grove of them one night, and we just rolled down the windows and let the smell into the car. They smell amazing. o_o

The smell of freshly made popcorn. Once I was sitting on the footstool below our microwave and I looked up at my mom (with 30 seconds left to go on the popcorn) and said "Mom, when Jesus comes again, he's gonna smell like popcorn" I dunno what state of mind I was in at the time, but really!
