CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

For those who work, what do you love most about it? We always tend to focus on the negative aspect of our workplace but never on the positive.

For myself, I love working at Target. It's been a very positive and impacting experiences that I would like to continue for a few more years. I do mostly cashiering but I also do backroom stuff and electronics.

What I like most bout my work is just the friendly attitude among target team members. I know all the guest service team and I am friends with all of them. We have so much fun while cashiering it's almost wierd. We just have a great guest service team. Likewise, the higher ups are awesome. I like all of them and they seem generally intrested with you on a personal basis. They always remember your name and talk to you during breaks and such. One of them is moving away and I am actually sad about that so I just got back from visiting her on her last day of work.

Also I love the 10% discount we get.

Hm hard to say... my store seems to suck when it comes to sale prices not coming up (and us having to expect to know what's on sale and/or call the department directly almost every time) because we have SO many sales and weekend sale and overlapping sales always going on... Maybe when we get new tills it will help SO much better, because I almost feel like pulling an Office Space and smash every last one of our slow debit machines... people can be so inpatient with them so even if you say "oh they're slow" no one seems to here and just keep swiping and errors keep popping up cause it's processing... So with all our policies and stuff we get our share of unhappy people and it's not fun getting yelled at for something you didn't do :/

*sigh* Ok rant has ended onto the positive things...


-opening up new boxes in Home E to see what new games and stuff just came out... it's like Christmas every day^^ In the present opening sense, that is

-10 % discount, plus extra points on our points cards if we get people to apply for our charge card, in which we can exchange the points for gift cards for the store

-people are nice who I work with, although since it's like a 'family' in a sense, there will always be some type of minor conflicts and for some reason I'M always the one that gets told if someone isn't happy with so and so. *shrugs* not sure why it's always me^^

Hmmm sometimes I wonder if the bad overrides the good sometimes... can't wait for them new tills, I'm sure it will be SO much easier on everyone...

I make sixty bucks an hour [before expenses], am my own boss, and have all of my working time to think, because the work is relatively easy [if hot]. I mow lawns in Florida.

That reminds me, I need to print some advertising flyers to drum up some more business . . . I need more shinies.

I work in a warehouse. The only thing I like about my job is I make 9.76 an hour.

I work at a smoothie store!

What I like about my job:

-50% discount.

-The people I work with are really nice, and a lot of them are really funny, too. XD

-It's a pretty easy job, actually.

-I get to handle money! 8D

-I get to wear whatever kind of pants (including shorts) and shoes I want.

The fact that volunteering at the library means I can get a glance at all the new titles before anyone else other than the librarians!

What do I like about my job? Well, currently, the fact that I have one. XD It's my first job, and I felt like I went through Hell and high water to obtain that "we're offering you this job" phone call. XD I really don't think I've been there long enough to pick out a "favorite" part, but everyone is really nice, and I enjoy it so far. XD

The best thing about my job is that the boss is a fellow Christ follower. I work part-time for a plumbing buisness as an apprentice to the boss, and I make $8.50 an hour learning the trade. I'm making more working 2-3 days a week than I did working at Arby's(C) for 2 weeks!

I work in my college's Media Services department, which means I make $8 an hour, which I am essentially paid to be available; if nobody needs anything done, we're pretty much given free range to do whatever we want.

Summers coming up, though, so I'll be seeking some other (probably more legitimate) form of employment.

This is a great idea, Hitokiri (long time no see btw *waves*). I've been bogged down by so many other negatives that I've lost sight of God's goodness and blessings in my current job.

What I love about my job:

1) The learning curve is steep and the challenges at the workplace are perfect for career development for a relatively fresh graduate. There are technical skills I'm learning now that I didn't get the chance to pick up in college such as applied statistics, flavor chemistry and formulations.
2) It goes without saying that I have to pick up soft skills as well. I'm gradually learning the ropes of the corporate world ==> Project/time/stress management + public relations, minus (hopefully) office politics
3) I taste food for a living. It's an interesting job, alright. The food science geek in me delights in learning what the different types of hams are out there, figuring why BBQ in China is not the same with BBQ in the U.S. and understanding the buying choices of Asia Pacific consumers.
4) The pay is fair in the market and I should be thankful for it. It's enough that I can balance between savings, a big housing loan, parents' allowances and general expenses. It's a good thing that I'm still single.
5) Department colleagues and boss are great to work with. My manager is a genuine Christian whose character is perfect for mentorship and friendship (God bless her) and her management style complements mine quite well.
6) The company bus is truly a wonderful thing. It's nice just needing to walk a small distance and having a bus pick you up to work and back.
7) I have the opportunity to travel to other countries I never thought I'll ever go, for business trips. While the travelling schedule is tiring and hectic, it's been a great experience walking into these different locations in Asia and learning more about these cultures. I'm thankful that I don't have to wait until I'm 50+ to travel. Best of all, it's on the company's account.

Sheesh, I seriously have a lot to be thankful for. Praise be to God! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Thank you for what You've given to me and for the Strength & Peace to endure the pains and trials that come along with it. May I give You Glory where You've placed me ~

I love being on the cutting edge of developing new technologies and pushing the envelope of what is possible. I love being free to explore and develop my interests both in signal processing and in machine learning.

I like the money. And the short hours. My bosses are nice too.

Otherwise it bores the heck outta me.

1) Flexible hours.
2) Freedom of meeting other Christians and practise our faith in one of the many rooms in the building during break time.
3) Friendly and helpful colleagues (at least in the team I work in).
4) Free gym (* grin *).
5) Helpful information regarding personal security measures always available.

I don't have a job now.

But I did tutoring in 'drop in centre' for the computer science department at uni last year. An hour a week. I loved it. I helped first and second year students understand concepts/fix problems in the their assignments. It was good money too (probably because it was only an hour a week). It was convenient too - it was basically the spot where I hang out normally in frees anyway... But due to unfortunate circumstances, I couldn't do it this year.

Oh yeah.. another good thing - unlimited internet quota for staff. This is especially handy, because the student quota is quite restrictive (75MB/semester I think). *still has it*

Honestly, not a lot. I work at Wendy's, so it's pretty rough.

Well I like the fact that the Wendy's I work at isn't as busy as most other ones around. My General Manager is a really nice person, compared to a lot of other GMs. I also like socializing with a good chunk of my co-workers.

But besides those, it's a crappy job. But hey, a job's a job right?

Hm. I love getting free soup and sandwiches, and that some girls from one of my classes work there, so I can look over and say, "Hey by the way, Jilly, do we have homework?"

People are great. Wireless internet is great...food is awesome

I work as a building manager at the Art & Music Building on my campus. The job is generally nights and weekends, and I can do my homework and usually just wear my normal clothes. (I do try and step the wardrobe up if I know there's going to be an event in the building during my shift, though.) Pay's decent. Minimum wage, but enough to suit my needs.

Panera is like the Cheers bar to my parents. Or Luke's to the Gilmore Girls.

Why I love working at Target-

-I don't get yelled at every five minutes by customers, which has drastically reduced the number of panic attacks I have
- I can wear my Vans
-Our store manager always asks me how I'm doing whenever he sees me, even if I'm just there shopping. So does our HR dude.
-The people I work with are all really cool
-the pay is nice
-they're pretty flexible with your schedule
-I don't smell like nasty pizza grease when I get home
-I've lost almost 20 pounds since I started working there, just from walking all over the store everyday.
-When people find out where I work, their general reaction is "Cool! Target's my favorite store."

It's not really that hard (I'm a cashier).
Good people, even when they complain about the job.

I actually prettymuch hate my job. :P But there are a lot of good things.


Awesome managers and management.

I get a 10-20% discount on practically everything in the store, from electronics, to furniture, to groceries, to art supplies and clothing and jewelry. Yay for one-stop shopping stores. :P

I know when all the sales are and exactly how to combine coupons, discounts, promotions, rebates, etc to get the best deal. ;P

I like surprising customers by scanning extra coupons on their order for them. *nods* I mean, if I have it lying there and they just happened to buy that half gallon of milk that could be 10/$10 instead of $1.69... Or if the Skechers shoes are 5 dollars off this week with in-store coupon and they didn't pick one up upstairs... :P

The other cashiers are nice.

I learned how to talk with strangers. Seriously, before this job, I could not make eye contact with anyone for more than a couple of se67conds. I was terribly insecure.

I get to see all the latest tabloids.. oh, wait. Good things? :P bah. xD It amuses me to see customers in line actually paying attention to the tabloids and displaying genuine shock over rumors of people they've never met. The National Enquirer story about Bush's rumored impending divorce (complete with unflattering photos of the first couple) got the most customer comments ever. Even more than the Britney stuff.

I know the PLUs, SKUs, and UPCs for tons of products now. Name any produce item and I can tell you its code. o_O I dare ya. It's good mental exercise at least.

I get to type things codes and commands into the keyboard. And I like typing. :D I get compliments from customers on how fast I type and work in general. xP

I have a good idea what the price range for a lot of things are now. I had no idea before what to expect to pay for a typical trip to the grocery store, or how much towels, beauty products, medicine, batteries (ow), or anything besides video games cost. :P

And even with all the stuff I hate and the crazy/mean/scary/drugged up customers I interact with every day, I have just that many more stories to add to my "People are weird!" mental folder. And that amuses me. Because I am weird myself.

It's only temporary. After I finish school, I'll have more opportunities available to me and I can do something more fulfilling.
