3 Wishes

I decided to make this thread because a question came to my mind last night.

What if you were granted 3 wishes or lets say 3 opportunities today...What would you wish for and why?

My three wishes would be for:

1. The end of hunger (I break down in tears when I see a little child malnourished and dying)
2. I wish for a chance to be a Pro-Wrestler (I've always dreamt of having this career, and with it enough money to help my Church and other charities)

I will list my 3rd wish later on...I'm still thinking about. I would love to hear your responses... :thumb:

I'd probably end up wishing for wisdom, a long lifespan (not immortality), and genie's freedom.

1. That there is a cure for AIDS and Cancer and that people live in a world that has no hate.

2. Kiyone is real, goes to med school to be a nurse and marries me

3. Corrie makes me a sandwich

1. Forum members will use proper grammar (or will at least try to use proper grammar) on forums.

2. All projects and assignments due tomorrow would magically disappear (the assignments; not the projects themselves, with the assignments still in place. XD).

3. Roy Mustang (and the rest of you--you know who you are XD) would make sandwiches for me. XD

Actually, at least two of you are exempt; I've got the quotes to prove it. But the rest of you--hop to it! XD

Pft, I'd gladly do that. I'd make a sammich for anyone, really xD

As for me... I dunno. I think it's too big of a thing to ask for three wishes.

Of course I could ask for major, Samaritan things and ask for World Peace and stuff. But on a more realistic and selfish level.

1. Money. I don't want a million or billion dollars. I simply want enough to alleviate debt and to help my parents a bit. Also when I'm older, enough so I can live rather comfortably. Of course I will want to have to work in order to meet ends. Having too much money can be pretty bad, I guess.

2. A family that loves and supports every single one of each other.

3. Every single person I care about has a happy and meaningful life. I can't beat to have anybody I know have a downright awful future due to current problems.

Hmm....this is very tough.

1. That I will glorify God in everything I do.

2. That I will be able to brighten someone's day whenever they need it.

3. That one day I will have time and money to go to an Anime Con and be able to cosplay.

1. All the dreaded papers I had to write would be dropped.
2. Wish I could make someone's day.
3. Own a Wing Zero Custom.

1. That my little sister and I would have a better relationship.
2. that I wouldn't stress my family out so much.
3. that I would become more independant...and less terrified of "the real world."

1. I would wish for infinite wishes.

2. Wish that war and suffering would end on Earth.

3. Well, no pressure. Actually, with infinite wishes I can wish for anything at anytime now...

rsnumber2 you beat me to the infinite wishes... but I can do one up!

1. I wish for an infinite number of wishes... that came true :)
2. I wish for an imaginary number of wishes as well (sqrt(-1))
3. I would wish to know the question whose answer is the meaning of life and everything called the number 42.

1.I wish I could re-live my life but this time as a girl so I could better understand my sisters.

2.I wish that I were more like Kagome.

3.I wish that everyone was Presbyterian or Reformed.

1. A hojillion dollars. Once I had this I'd pretty much be able to get anything else I wanted like women or material stuff, and I could also use the money to help out third world nations and stuff.

2. That America would quit getting the shaft when it comes to special editions of games and bonus stuff associated with them (the Kingdom Hearts Final Mix games and "Event only" Pokemon come to mind).

3. That people could have a three wishes thread and have it be fun and enjoyable without people trying to turn it into some religious propaganda.

i would wish for:
1. That all people would hear the Gospel, believe it, accept it, repent, and be reborn as Christians.

2. That this world would be free of all sin (basically be the way it was before Adam and Eve ate the fruit)

3. Wisdom. True, real, spiritual wisdom.

I do not want to start a major theological debate, but if one wishes for an absolute unwavering faith, I feel that you would not be following God with your true heart. Which is the challenge of being a follower, wanting to believe no matter the hardship or joy. That, in itself, is where recieves the joy of us following him. It's because we don't have to, we choose to do so. Wishing we did would be no different than forcing ourselves to do so. Just a thought.

What's the point? The things I want, if I work and pray for them, they might happen, they might not. The things I want to happen and have little influence over, such as child abuse, world hunger, etc., does it help to have my wishes written here?

No need to be a downer about it ~ it's just a thought. Sheesh. Such a thread is just a way of asking, "What's most important to you?"

rsnumber2 ~ I thought about that myself. I do not pretend to think that it's simple, or even possible, but if there was a way for all to truly follow God with a wish, I'd want it. What Christian wouldn't?

Yeah, I didn't mean to be a downer about it, I had often thought about the same thing. I was just throwing that out for argument sake.

Yeah, sorry. Had a pretty bad headache and couldn't see the point of much of anything when I wrote that.

I guess I kind of see your point, but I don't think that having an unwavering faith would be a bad thing. Quite the opposite. I think I'd much rather have an unwavering faith in God than the unbelief I find myself battling against from time to time, and far more often than I'd like to admit. So, in that, I'd sacrifice my "genuine humanity/emotional honesty" (I couldn't think of a more articulate way to put it) for unwavering faith any day, because all questioning does is cause me more confusion.

Just my two cents.

1.) I wish for the characteristics of the Serenity Prayer.
2.) I wish for a more loving heart.
3. ) I wish for the presence of mind to always remember that death comes fast and most of this just doesn't count for much.
