*sob* I want my Spring back...

Okay...so it's like April right? April SHOULD mean the return of 60-75 degree weather for my state...

WRONG

Just when I thought the glorious season of Spring was finally here, and I am talking floweres are blooming, trees are budding and showing off their wonderful blossoms...

It hits.

A major freeze that is supposed to get only worse by tomorrow.

In the past week, it has snowed, rained and even thunderstormed...the snow and freezing weather has viturally wiped out almost every tree blossom..or at leat made them wilt without signs of recovery.

This means that there will probably not be any lovely apples...or fruits for our trees and my state's major crops, wheat and corn will probably not survive either...:/

Because...
Tomorrow my state is slated to get 6-12 INCHES OF SNOW?!

IT'S APRIL!!! Why all this cold?!

April showers will not bring May flowers this year, more like Flowery Death...

is anyone else experiencing stuff like this? Is there ANY hope for our vegetation!? :O

If anyone else complains about getting snow in April, I will not be held responsible for my actions.

We're actually getting the opposite here - it's a little warmer than the average April (a week or two of average temp of 31C or 88F). It's supposed to be autumny, and it's not really. We haven't had any rain for a while either.

I think it's just a late season or something.

Wow... what a not very nice thing to say, Nate.. I had no idea anyone else was complaining about getting snow... and I find it a bit rude that you would say something like that..

if you don't like this topic then why not follow your own advice and not post in these sort of threads... I have seen you make other replies in other threads about "if you don't like a subject then don't talk about it..."

I asked a question that I hoped that people could contribute to...not bash. It is very wierd to get snow in April...and I have never seen snow this late in Spring... So excuse me, sir for not following the same train of thought as you.

I understand that maybe you don't get snow like we do over here, but that doesn't mean that we like it.

I didn't start this thread to "complain" about the weather. That is rather immature. I started it because it has the potential to devestate the farmers over here. 6-12 inches of snow can KILL wheat...and some has already died. My state produces a large amount of the Nation's grain...as does Nebraska. With the ice storm on New Year's weekend and this newer storm that we are expecting tomorrow, this could seriously affect the price of bread, corn and so on.

So before you go on thinking I am "complaining." Please think a bit...

Now can we please get back on topic and stop bashing people for starting a thread that may or may not interest someone.

Mods, if you think I am too harsh, I am really sorry. I don't mean to be... I just get a little irratated when people spout things off like that without adding to the topic.

Ah yes, crazy weather! The weather here plays ping-pong all the time, and we almost always get snow or frost in April. Just last week we had about 4 inches of snow, and it dropped below freezing for a couple days. A few years ago we had a massive snow-storm in April and got about 3 feet of snow... so yeah, it happens o.o\

I guess it depends on where you live, too. *shrugs* I don't really know, weather is a mystery o_o snow in April does seem a little weird, though.

PS. Way to tell off Kae!

I love the cold weather.

South Texas is often excessively hot during the year, so a cold streak is quite welcome to me.

XD I guess the latest I remember getting this much snow was last year...in Mid-March...besides that though we never get snow in April...:/

I used to live in TexaS XD I know how little snow you guys can get...-.-

snow is nice...IN WINTER

Another reason why I don't want it to snow: My art club is having a sushi/anime party tomorrow...if it snows I won't be able to make it...and I am the PRESIDENT! >:O

And I thought Iowa was the only state having this odd weather!

It's 31 degrees here right now. But thankfully according to the weather channel it's going to go to 51 tomorrow. Unfortunately, it's too late for all the poor flowers that started to bloom...

At least the Sakura hasn't started to bloom yet. I love it when it starts to come out...

Winter is my favorite though. I wish it would be Winter year round.

Or maybe 8 out of the 12 months.

Really? Alexander? I really am not liking the fact that flowers aren't gonna make it either...we really need them. And I think some people take things for granted...

MSP, this is hopefully the last time I will talk about what happened. The internet is a very wierd place. I can't hear voice influction or anything. How am I to know that he was joking or not? If he was joking he should have put something like, "Just Kidding" or one of those smile faces...

TOPIC OVER LETS MOVE ON!

Just because I'm curious about actions that won't be held for responsibility ...

Bummer ... it snowed today and I'm sick of the snow.

I read somewhere that geologists have predicted climate changes since the Asian tsunami and therefore, am not too surprised. It's, of course, still not fun.

It's been raining heavily in Singapore....again. The wet season should been over with months ago. Bah.

I actually enjoy cold, rainy weather.... I should probably move to Seattle or something... >.> I absolutely hate hot, muggy weather, which is what Florida normally gets during the spring.... ;___;

We had eighty degree weather two weeks ago, and I saw snow flakes this morning. At least I saw a mocking bird gathering nest materials to cheer me up.

Actually this is a pretty historic snow storm for my state.. The last time in snowed in April here was in 1978 and it wasn't even this late..

Today was scary. My English Comp teacher called class early (thankfully, my last class). My sister and I have to travel a nearly 20 miles to get home...and when we were leaving from getting the mail...we suddenly went inot this GIANT fishtail.. We must have been weaving back and forth for a good block...:/ I was so scared

THIS is why I hate snow...it's treacherous..=_=

Move up to Canada, I think you'd enjoy it up here. Well, for the past few years it's varied. This just happened to be one LONG winter (with the odd warmish days) this year, although I know a LOOOONG and HOT summer will follow (just like the scorching one we had last year... yuck! Too hot!)

Right now though, we're getting hit by the so-called "April showers", which we usually get tons of through the year (except for summer when it like, never rains) :/ No freezing here, nor has there been snow for well over a month or so, but I want my suuuuuuun and warrrrrmth v_v

When I spoke to my brother over the weekend, he mentioned he still has about five feet of snow in his front yard. Of course, he lives in the Yukon so that's not too unusual.

Who cares about the weather anyway? The important thing is that the
Mariners missed 5 out of 7 road games in Cleveland and Boston.

Actually according to Norse mythology Ragnarok will be preceeded by a year when there is no Spring but one endless Winter.

So maybe Ragnarok's around the bend.

Ok that last was me joshing around.

To be serious though I don't think it means much of anything other than the east coast getting colder than usual temps for this time of year.

I'm tired of the cold, gray weather, myself. I want a nice spring before I have to deal with summer...

I had to work from 2 AM to 10 PM 4-7-07 because they said there would be 1 to 2 inches of snow from 2 AM until 11 AM. What a joke that was. It snowed but by the time we left at 10 AM there was no trace of it.
Because of that I had to forfit a Friday evening enjoying my easy time to sleep and get up at Midnight to go to work. When I got home I had to sleep for 2 hours and could have gone shopping for my mother to get some Easter items for her.
Now they say we could have snow showers this Sunday along with rain and wind.
I want to see my brother and his family but that can't happen until it warms up and stays that way. He lives in the mountains of Virginia.

We're having a bit of rain at the moment. Not too much though, just sprinkles.
It is odd that the East Coast has been getting all that bad weather lately, but then again they did have a lot of warmer weather earlier in the Winter. So maybe Mother Nature is simply catching up.

*sighs*

The weather is back to normal here. The snow has stopped, it's melted, and the temperature is returning back to a nice 60 degrees.

*goes outside to wait for the sakura to bloom*

yeah. we're supposed to have a snowstorm tonight....F.U.N....=_=....not. I don't mind if it's cold outside...I at least want a sunny day during the week....ever since my parent's moved away from CA the majority of my days have seen grey days....I prefer sunny. ^_^ and yes, I had posted a thread titled "april showers..." "are not what's happening here." so, yeah, I had complained earlier...hehheh. All I can say is...I'm glad that I'm growing my strawberries and flowers INSIDE.

It's been raining sproadically the last few weeks here in supposedly "sunny" south Florida. Right now it's windy and rainy outside. It's also cold. But, strangely, I don't mind it. It's good napping weather.

I'm with MSP. It's just Nate, after all.

There's supposedly a storm headed our way, as Bakura mentioned. Supposed to be a grand nor'easter like one we haven't had in 3 to 20 years, or so I've heard. A million feet of snow, cancellations, Long Island evacuating, and general apocalyptic statements when in the end it's probably going to be about 3 inches of slush.

Yep. Happy spring from Maine, everyone.
