I have many family issues. My grandmother has 8 kids (quite alot!) and it seems all of them have an issues which I worry about. My eldest aunt (My mom's older sister) has ben drinking and smoking and my cousin (her daughter) is carrying her second child (she's only 17 and her first child died and her boyfriend is in jail) and seems rebellious. My mom is the second oldest, but my brother seems to be making bad choices, probably due to peer pressure from his friend Anthony (to my annoyance) and he's only 9, complaining about how he doesn't get what he want and etc. My sister has Aspergers (which doesn't bother me, but causes me to worry about her. My aunt has a mental condition in which she is constantly paranoid, and so does my other aunt. One of my uncles drinks far too much, along with his wife and they have four kids. My other uncle is divorced with my aunt Kim, but my last uncle I don't see any problems (which I may or may not know about). Any my mom's youngest sister seems a bit depressed if you ask me.

I don't have any huge issues except for those family issues, but I do feel as though my parents are expecting too much from me for school, which allows me to get A's and B's and sometimes only one C. But On my interim, I had recieved a D and never showed them. And I'm worried that I may have it on my report card, because even though I had gotten an A on my project, I recieved a D on my unit test for my magnet. (I go to a magnet school)

And, even though I don't know if I do, I think I may going through depression because ven though I feel happy sometimes, I space out too much, feel stressed, and keep on falling asleep during the day.

Do you guys think I have depression? :(

well, in all honesty I don't think you do. My exboyfriend was diagnosed with depression. I think that your body is just reacting to an overload of stress in your life *which sounds a lot like what I went through*. Stress can cause a great deal of harm, too much constant stress and the body starts to shut itself down. I know that when I was in school, my parents would flip over me getting just one C. when I was going to college *at the age of 16* I took mostly online computer classes. I was always tired, I spaced out, and fell asleep at the computer. So, try taking some stuff off your back. Ya know like giving it to God. *this comming from the stubborn, everyone elses problems are mine to deal with and no YOU can't help me, person :p* We are only human, and stress does hurt. I'll be praying for you. Keep your chin up. Even if we can't do anything, HE is always in control. ^_^ And like I said, people are people. We make our own descisions, good and bad. We can't change people. People can change when they decide they need to. So again, I'll be praying. PM me anytime if you need to talk, ok?

Yep. Too many things are blamed on Depression/ADD/Etc these days. I think you're going through something more mundane like stress. Find time to relax and make sure you're getting plenty of sleep.

Sounds like familial stress to me as well.Maybe you need to find a way of getting away from your family for awhile as you shouldn't being carrying around all that stress at only 14.

Definitely familiar with me.

In fact, I'm still in it.

I don't know or talk to 3/4ths of my family because of their morals and ethics being so different from me.

From everything to being under drugs to being sent to prison. (One of my distant relatives is on life sentence for killing his wife).

From what I see in you, and this is just from the first time I've seen you, you don't seem depressed. Worried, and under quite a bit of sadness, but not depressed just yet.

However, if you do feel that you need to let out any feelings, I or anyone else here is open to talk. I could help you quite well in this area with me having, unfortunately, a lot of experience with it.

As for your parents, I would suggest calmly explaining your grades to them. You might even want to tell them about the feelings you're having with your family in order to better help them understand how your feeling. It can be very hard to do that confession, but finding someone to discuss your feelings and to let out your fears with them is far better then holding them in.

I'm not a psychiatrist, but as the others have said I would not jump to conclusions that it's depression. I've been struggling with clinical depression for five years, and this sounds much more like a bad situation and resulting stress to me. However, that's not to undermine *at all* the problems you're facing. This is a bad deal for someone your age (or any age, for that matter) to be going through.

My advice to you is to do the best you can at school; it's a great thing for you regardless of your parent's standards. :) Also, is there anyone you trust that you can talk to, like a guidance counselor? It really does help to let this stuff out. CAA is great, but it's not like talking to a person in real life, either.

And lastly, keep an eye on how you feel from time to time. If you notice that you're feeling down continuously for several months at a time, it could very well be depression. Hope this helps. ^^
