...without tearing them off or paying to get them removed. I had to get stupid fake nails for my stupid sister's stupid wedding and now I can't get rid of them! Anyone have any suggestions?! They're too long and I can't open sodas or pick my toenails!

Well . . . you could use a Dremel tool on low speed with a fine-grit sanding head to grind them down . . . I recommend caution, however. That is likely the best way, as you can keep the nails in a shape you like.

Thank you for the suggestion, but I don't have a dremel tool and I would rather spend the money on getting them off than buying something I'm never heard of. Is it like a buffer sort of thing, long and skinny, round head, sort of? Cuz if so, I really don't want that. ;_; The chinese lady who did my nails used that and she wasn't very good with it, so she buffered my skin!! It hurt!

And grinding them down won't work because, well, I have enough dirt to start an ant pile under them. BLECH. It's uh pretty gross.

Go to a beauty supply store and get some acetone. Soak the nails in it for a while and it should dissolve them (there'll probably be more thorough instructions on the bottle).

Hmmm, don't they make stuff especially for dissolving the glue? Yeah, I would follow ShiroHikari's advice. Otherwise look for advice from sites like this:

I can't say whether this person knows the best way or not, but acetone not only evaporates super fast but is very drying to skin, so the advice about covering the nails to soak and getting some moisturizer seemed informed. You can also buy acetone at a hardware store, usually in the paint aisle.
