What kind of art related pruducts would you buy? Is any one else going to Youmacon?

I'm hoping to go to a convention [Youmacon] at the end of the year and would like to have a table to sell some things.
What kind of things do you buy at conventions? I'm not sure if it would be worth making prints [even in 9 months] because my art isn't that good. I was thinking of making key chains, just plastic ones with a picture in them. What do you think?

Well, I've never been to a convention, nor can I recall seeing your artwork(a couple links to some of your artwork would be helpful
), but I would buy keychains. As long as they're not too... plain. Something that's bold and says, "Oh YEAH! I BELONG on your bag!" or something like that. Maybe something with angels?

Thanks for your help!

Hmm...I would try to draw up some fanart of popular shows. Your art is really good, and people buy alot of that stuff. I'd try doing some Naruto, Inuyasha, and some Full Metal Alchemist pics....it's really popular right now.

Tough question. Trinkety stuff (key chains, button pins, magnets) is probably a good idea, as long as you can keep prices low. I myself would buy something with a catchy layout design, detailed but not too cluttered. And of course, it would have to be from an anime/character that I liked, so the advice about picking populars is good.
So they really let you sell your own fanart at cons? You'd think the licensed vendors would object...

Buttons are usually pretty popular in Artists' Alleys and stuff. 8D

At the convention where I am planning on getting a table, Fan art is NOT allowed... ^^' you might want to check the rules and ask your director if it is okay before you do any fanart for the con.
Besides, it is my opinion that if you want to sell YOUR art the you do that, SELL YOUR ART and not the idea that someone else has made for you.
As for me, I am goign to make small 2 inch animals that are cute.

That makes more sense to me. If that is the case, I still think one could make some really awesome artwork to sell. Since you wouldn't have character recognition going for you however, you'd really need to rely on good catchy designs. You could do a few different themes, in terms of mood and color. As long as the art is cool and eye catching, I think people might buy it.

I am with Eso here.. design is a must...so make sure yours will stand out amongst the others. You will not be the only artist there, after all
Also, I think I am getting an artbooth... but at my convention you have to be over 18 to do so, you might want to look into that. I am not sure if it will be the same.

Thanks again!
I'm not really interested in doing fanart any way.
My moms coming with me too, you can't get into the con without parental permission if you are under 18.
I'll make some key chains, buttons and maybe some prints.
