alright alright... for anyone who dosen't know FIRST is a national robotics club in wich teams build robots that must be able to complete a cirtian task in a game. anyhow the regional for our area is in Rochester Ny this year and it's NEXT WEEK!!!!!!! :dizzy:

ahhhh!!!!! our robot is barely done(but it's still made of win wrapped in bacon!!!!1!!! :thumb:) we still have things to fix and attach to it you know 90% done and still 90% to go. we're runng around crazy trying to do last minute things that we can bring to rochester with us...did i mention we have to completly redesign our lift :?:

well if any one is around that area or at RIT check out the comp.

Good luck in the competition. I had a friend who was really into robotics once. We've since gone our separate ways, but she probably would've enjoyed participating.

Good luck! My brother did that competition back in the day. Seriously, it was a whole decade ago. I got to go, and it was definitely really cool.

Oof. I can see where that would be problematic. Well good luck with that. Let us know how it goes!

This sounds really interesting. What things can you build it out of? The only thing I can think of that wouldn't make it university-level robotics would be Lego Technic blocks...

we use aluminum but only because it's lighter. we had a problem a few years ago when it was to heavy and holes had to drilled into it.

yes it makes it a little easyer but we still have to make alot of it ourselves. (that's meboeck for putting the link up) and we also have to do most the programming to. http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/search.php?searchid=745635 is a good place to go to if anyone is interested seeing how the different teams and regionals are going so far. that's a pic of last years game btw. i'll try to find a pic of this years.

ahh home again nothing like it. the hotel we stayed at was a days inn so can't expect much from it but...the ant colony under the toilet was a bit much XD. alright any way we had some complications with the arm of our bot so we changed our startagy to being the bully of the feild the announcer called us a "menice" and "the little robot that could" . we, i must admit were very good. our divers Drew and Larr did a very very imprssive job. we didn't make it to the finals but we did place 17th and where at 2nd at one point, but we had some not so great allince partners. so that pushed us back. but we all had a really fun time laughing at Ross in the dinosaur costume and hanging out in the hallways playing cards or having thumbwars. Joe, Ross and i became really close friends from the expirience. and we found out that RIT is having an anime convention called Tora con in april so we're making plans to go. but is was just a great thing to be involved in and i'm 100% gonna do it again next year.
