Psycho Ann announced this over at
http://www.theproject.us, but I thought it merited posting here as well since I haven't seen anything on the subject here.
Psycho Ann wrote:Following on the success of the first competition in 2005, the 2nd International Christian Competition is here! It is open to everyone, anywhere, and the deadline is currently set at 13 June 2007.
Official blurb from Comix35:
The blessings and success of the 1st International Christian Comics Competition in 2005 have led the COMIX35 ministry to launch the 2nd International Christian Comics Competition today. Over 40 short comics stories from 20 countries and a dozen different US states were submitted to the first event. The winners were Sergio Cariello from Brazil and Florida USA (professional division) and José Carlos Gutiérrez from México (amateur). Both have landed new publishing projects as a result. Other entrants have reported new work opportunities as well after appearing in the printed competition book. Nate Butler, president of COMIX35, adds: "These competitions continue our ministry's focus on helping Christians create evangelistic stories and messages, and they enable us to do so even more proactively than the training events we have been holding for the past 11 years." The deadline for this new competition is Wednesday 13 June 2007. [SOURCE: COMIX35, 3 February 2007]
Please go here for more information. God Bless to all those entering!

I do have a question regarding entries..
I remember last time I entered it said something about a matt board or something...can we enter these on paper? Or does it have to be on some sort of board, I was always confused by this.. XD...so I actually submitted art on matte boards...:x

Comix35 wrote:Editorial/Artistic/Technical Guidelines
D10- Your artwork should be submitted in electronic form on CD or DVD. High quality printed copies are also acceptable, but original artwork (actual art boards) should NOT be submitted. Printed copies should be submitted at the reproduction (print) size described above. All materials submitted will be kept on file and will not be returned, either in North America or overseas.

I think they're just referring to whatever medium you do your art on - paper, canvas, etc.

Oooh, quick! Do we get to see your entry before the due date?
I've teamed up with Zarn for an entry; I'm really excited, can't wait to see what we come up with. Depending on time and all that I might do another one solo.

Sure - if you want to, go make a thread in the Manga forum, and then post a link here.
The people running the contest are really nice. I did an entry and was really computer file illiterate two years ago, and asked some pretty dumb questions of them. They answered right away and were very nice about it. I didn't make it in either. ^^;;

XD
I managed to get mine on a CD, but it was just lineart, I ran out of time and didn't get it shaded even - I don't blame them at all for not choosing mine. ^^
Amazing what learning how to use PS can do for oneself.

Wish I'd seen this link earlier. I'd love to do something for this! I'll just have to see if I can come up with any ideas first. ^_^
