Katsucon 13 Report

Just got back from the first day of Katsucon 13, being held at the DC Omni Shoreham in downtown Washington, DC. Actually, it was fairly well organized compared to previous years -- registration was quick and easy, the videos actually started on time, and crowd control was working. The Merchant Room was fairly well stocked. Artist Alley was barren when we checked it out -- hopefully not a harbinger of things to come, but surprising given that it typically is much busier. Cosplay abounded, with the folks from Naruto being vastly overrepresented, along with the normal turn-out for Sailor Moon, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Hellsing, to name a few. Saw a group of bemused KLM flight attendants trying to take it all in (almost thought that they were cosplayers, except they had real ID...). Convention runs through Sunday afternoon, if you get a chance, check it out!

Some of my friends went, but I didn't get to go.

Good to see you had a good time!

I would love to have seen the expressions on the faces of those stewardesses.

xDD I remember seeing the airplane people when I went out for McDonald's. :D

Anime conventions must be so weird and awkward for whoever has NO IDEA what's going on. xDD

Yeah, I had an awesome time but found that I got lost everywhere I turned. It didnt really bother me, since I was wandering anyway.

Well I suppose if you're around long enough you eventually get used to seeing things like that.
