Comic Con--and why you should go

Top reasons:

(1). If you live close enough to San Diego and have never gone to "The CON", YOU HAVE ALREADY FAILED AT LIFE.

(2). Even if you live further away and have never gone to "The CON", YOU STILL FAIL AT LIFE.

Comic Con, unlike any Anime convention, is a convention with a much broader scope that attracts divers hordes of pathetic lowli--I mean, fans of all shapes and sizes.
Many movies that are soon to be released (and destined to be hits!) are previewed there with lots of exhibitions, panels, and the like. I remember going to "The CON" during the LOTR years and attending the Snakes on a Plane panel. Wonderful memories.
The dealer area is massive. AX2006, which had the largest attendance of any American anime convention, dwarfs in comparison to CC. (And don't give me numbers! You know what Twain said about d@mned lies and statistics).
You will be amazed at the sheer.... superlatives that reside within the Hall of the Great San Diegan Sail Barge, as I call it. Whether it be the massive PHAILURE of the PHANBOYS or the scope of the grandeur of the celebrities that condescend to make their presence there. Vic Mingnogna? Normal people (non-anime watchers) would think you were talking of a sandwhich maker from Philly. Samuel L. Jackson? SAMUEL L. [EXPLETIVE] JACKSON!? Mention that name and people start misquoting the Bible all over you!

And, besides, it's right by the sea and a bunch of intimidating Naval warships. What's not to love?

If you need any other reason, it's because I'M SICK AND TIRED OF BEING THE ONLY CAA DUDE TO REPRESENT!

And bring a controller so I can kick your rear end in Melty Blood using Hisui.

I visited Comic Con just last 2006. Met Vic Mingnogna. Had my horrible photo taken and a slew of posters signed. It was excellent.

And I've been meaning to find a copy of Melty Blood.

Let's do lunch.

I was most likely going to attend this year. Hopefully funding will allow for it this year.

The problem with all of these cons is that they're in California...which is not very close to Texas.

You guys are the Lone Star state. We're over-run with liberal law suits. Geez, you've gotta give us something.

I wish I could go. >.< I love Comic Con. Used to go every year. But alas... I live too far away now.

Ditto. Although I'll remix that statement for my circumstances...
The problem with all these cons is that they're in America... which is not very close to New Zealand. ;)

Hopefully one day I'll be able to go to America; and then I'd love to time my visit to coincide with an anime convention. ^_^

I used to go, but circumstances have changed and I no longer (alas) can attend this great gathering of geekiness. It was fun while it lasted though.

I would love to visit America one day just to visit the cons. I'll be with you in spirit, brother!

Comic Con--and why I shouldn't go

1. Comic con is in Cal

2. I live in Georgia

3. I can go to cons that deal in comics here

4. I like comics, but not that much to pay alot of money to fly for a con

5. I like to drive to cons and not fly to a con

6. If any of the reasons here are not good, then I fail at life

7. If I do fail at life, then I shouldn't be getting on a plane and going to a con for that matter

8. I ran out of reasons, why I shouldn't go

1.I don't have the money
2.I live in God's Country...The Pacific Northwest
3.I don't drive
4.I am only interested in going to a Con if it were closer(Spokane, for example)
5.I hate crowds

Ingemar's Incentive Plan:

For the males: If you plan on staying overnight, I can save you money. I happen to live not far away from the Trolley (which happens to have a special event line for, oh, I don't know, COMIC CON).

Food will be provided.

I am not offering this plan for the females because I feel it violates the rules of decency.

On behalf of the staff, who could be potentially sued, thank you.

I still want to know whom the special guests of honor are going to be there so the rest of us will know what we're missing.

I think of those listed most of us would recognize Neil Gaiman and probably also
Roy Thomas and Sergio Aragones.
