Hmm ok well i have a career tech and i hate it... honestly think of the thing you dislike doing the most or used to and multiply that by 5 million squared... i failed it last semester and now im wanting to switch... sounds simple right?
Wrong.
My project HOPE coordinator (which is my alternative highschool program), my teacher in HOPE, and i have to talk tomarrow.
Kimberly will NOT let you switch easily she wow, she just wont.
So i talked to her a lil bit today and i was like, "Yeah i wanna switch to I.C.E." (which is a work program and it would be so easy because i have a job at my friend Morgan's, dad's coffee shop and gaming room)
She was like "No i cant switch you." and i was like "im gonna fail if you dont!" and she was like "no you wont" and then i was like "I can not concentrate in that class." (which is i cant concentrate working on computers i have computer ADD im like dead serious no joking) then i was like "I cant concentrate so i cant work." and she told me she would get me a tutor... however 1. a Tutor wont help me concentrate 2. i live 50 somthing miles away from this school so i cant come up here every night i dont have the gas money 3. i will still hate this class (even though we work with photoshop and illustrator).
Now see Kimberly is stubborn and im worried sick because if i fail my career tech (yes i have tried to concentrate i honestly cant tried my best... you will understand if you have ADD)... what should i say to Kimberly... i have talked to my career tech teacher and she was like "Ill hate to lose you because you ahve the talent" but i dont care i mean i love her she is awesome but this class isnt ...
What should i tell her... i need serious answers please!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks
*edit* if i fail again FYI i get kicked out of HOPE and have to get my GED

is there a way to channel the ADD into something semiproductive? If I get bored or distracted in a class i try to do something that'll work towards a goal, such as runnig through photoshop filters on a photo to see how they affect differently, or working on my own projects to help my understandingg of the programs I'm using. I don't know what to say otherwise since I'm not familiar with the program, but is it possible to do differnt projects that can hold your interest better? My main probelm with distraction usually stems from just having something thats really boring or simple to do.

Well, I can't say I'll probably be the one to tell you what you want to hear. . . but, my two cents is, stick with the class. If you don't like it, well, it's probably really good practice for other things you'll have to do one day that you won't like. I mean, that's kind of how things are in life-- some things are fun, some things are really awful, but they all happen and we have to learn to deal with them. If you quit now, it'll probably just get you in a quitter's mindset for other important things in your life, and I doubt you want that. I think a tutor sounds good, because though you say a tutor can't help you concentrate, I really think one could. If you have someone there metaphorically "cracking the whip," it'd probably really help to keep your mind from wandering. I know the times when I get the most distracted and least motivated is when I'm doing something all by myself. When I have someone else with me, though, I know I have to make their time worthwhile. As for having to take a test that requires reading, which you say you don't like to do. Well, unfortunately, that's also something that comes up a lot in life, especially if you want to go to college. I don't know if you actually want to go to college or not, but if you do, you'll have to do tons and tons of reading (my sister had to read 120 pages of English text *before* her first day of class this semester), so that's another one of those things that you probably just need to get used to.
Like I said, I really doubt this is what you want to hear, but I think sticking with the class even if you don't like it would be really good for you. If you have ADD, you might look into getting prescribed medication to help you concentrate, and then do your best. Take your teacher's advice, too, I bet she's been doing this long enough to know what she's talking about. If she's tough, it's probably just because she's trying to help you learn to be tough too. Anyways, the ultimate decision is obviously up to you, so pray about it, ask people you trust about it, and then do whatever you think God is leading you to do. Good luck!

Ditto..stick with the class for now.Though IMO this sounds like a case of the immoveable object(you)versus the irresitible force(your teacher).I think you both need to get a third party in to listen to the both of you because it seems you're only talking at each other at cross purposes and neither is really listening to what the other has to say.

My teacher and i talk enough and were getting it ... i know im not goni to stay with the class if i dont have to becasue its so hard and its not just that... i dont want to... and have little to no intrest in it... if i had to get a tutor id have to come up here like every night and like i said i like 50 some miles from my school ... and so not possible.
I know it could be one of those things to stick to but i can not stick to this... if i do and i fail ill get kicked out of my school... period... and ill have to get my GED which is why i started this school in the first place so i wouldnt have to.
I havent been able to talk to kim yet sadly but as soon as i do im at least getting out for next year!
She wont stop me then.
I understand where you are coming from each one of you but i also know what i have to do in order not to get kicked out of school
idk.

It seems to me that your real problem is that you don't read books that you don't like. I can almost guarantee that in the future you will have to read something that you don't like. Quitting the class because you don't like reading things that you don't like, Doesn't make sense logically. Deciding that you can't possibly do it just makes it that much harder. If you can change classes or something then maybe you should do that, but quitting because you aren't having fun probly won't open up the best future for you. I do sympathize with your situation but your attitude towards it is not helping your situation at all. I'm sorry if I've been to blunt.

oh okay so the problem isn't the reading its the whole thing. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
P.S. if you would punctuate your posts and not use ......s it would be much easier to understand your problem.
